Your guys’ post episode discussions are always interesting, especially the theories you come up with. Obviously no spoilers. And yes, there was an end credit scene in episode 5. Pretty sure you saw the beginning of it, but then never played it. As Nox stated above, it’s pretty important, especially regarding a certain detail to Shin.

2022-06-08 22:08:26 +0000 UTCY'all did miss one after credit scene here with 86. It was last episode, episode 5. Yall paused to talk and then just never got back to watching the ending. With the taking heads thing, the Legion only takes copies of the damaged brains like Kaie's which turns them into the Black Sheep. They do take whole undamaged brains in order to make Shepherds. And Shin found his brother's machine & his body without a head. Hmmm..... The flashback was of Shin's first years in the military, aged approximately 11. So that was 5 years ago, as he's currently 16. Fun fact: In the light novels, we didn't get a lot of Daiya prior to his death. We are given a few hints that him and Anju had a thing going and then one chapter suddenly its like "well, we lost Daiya and Lecca". The anime actually takes the time to show us their relationship and get us attached to Daiya so his death is more meaningful. Also the weird explosive dudes that killed Daiya that looked kinda like people? They're called self-propelled mines. They have high mobility and small sizes, making them harder to hit, and they run at you and explode. And about Shin's power, all I can say right now is that Espers exist in the world of 86 (aka some people have psychic powers). I'll explain more of it when we get to the second half of the show (so around episode 14-ish).
