Yeah, I’ve seen other stories where Ned gets the mother wolf and sometimes he earns it. I don’t see that in this story. The fact that he’s had to be reminded so often of what it means to be a Northerner by his own family shows that he doesn’t understand, let alone embrace, what being a Stark TRULY means. Ned has always been an Arryn to me. Since the beginning of the series. He’s never possessed the wild, harsh, or ruthless nature of his ancestors. It’s obvious he won’t in this story. Or if he does, it’ll take A LOT. So, yeah. The other kids can have their wolves. But Ned? Nope

2026-02-21 16:07:49 +0000 UTCI did like that this chapter highlighted more of Jon’s empathy and compassion, while he’s hyper talented competent and his experience with wildlings has made him a bit colder and more unforgiving and ruthless he’s not heartless by any means Also interested how it showed how the people of winter town were looking more to Jon than Robb, personally while I believe this would spark a little jealousy I don’t believe it would make any animosity as that doesn’t really feel like who Robb is? (Though if u think about it while Robb respects Jon I also think he never thought about it since he never really thought Jon would ever outshine him as he’s the heir of winterfell an he was up until a few years ago a bastard)

2026-02-21 07:22:28 +0000 UTCThis chapter also highlighted something important: the people of Wintertown seemed to look to Jon more than to Robb for leadership, and both of them clearly noticed it. I’m really interested to see how Robb responds to that—whether it pushes him to step up and take his role as heir and his responsibilities more seriously. I’m even more curious about how Catelyn might react if she hears about it.

2026-02-21 01:41:31 +0000 UTCI didn’t enjoy this chapter tbh, all it seemed right there was Ned running his mouth and Jon bowing his head like a kicked puppy. He should’ve stood his ground and said it would be Afront to their ancestors to leave a direwolf to die
