Well, the difference here is that Armin is not yet as he was at the end of Season 3 or Season 4. Second, he feels like he owes too much to Eren; everything on the island is going well because of Eren. This secret is quite a big secret that he is hiding, and Armin knows Eren's desire for revenge, and he knows he is allowing Eren to love someone who is responsible for his mother's death. So Armin is feeling quite a lot of guilt for all the reasons I mentioned.

2024-09-02 15:20:48 +0000 UTCI don’t understand Armin here, is it so hard to keep a secret that you have to start avoiding em. I don’t think this suits Armin’s image. The original was much more definite about his strategies and actions even thought he was not confident, but he was definite for sure. This Armin is acting really pathetic. Save both friends by keeping a secret or destroy both of them by telling it. Really? Is it so hard? So pathetic.

He feels so guilty that he refuses to stop working since working helps him not think about his secret.
