Important Note for A Nundu for A Pet
Added 2024-07-17 21:19:43 +0000 UTCWhen I published Chapter 4 of A Nundu for a Pet, I published A Poll about which house Harry should be in. Slytherin got the most votes, but now I'm getting comments and messages telling me that putting him in Slytherin was a mistake.
So, I'm asking if you think I should publish another poll and change the House he was sorted into. If another House wins the Poll, I will rewrite a few scenes from Chapter 13. The Chapter will be mostly be the same, but a few scenes would need to be rewritten.

Thank You. Harry will clash with quite a few heads in Slytherin before things start truly changing. There will be politics involved since he’s in Slytherin.

Which fits better with this story. While Gryffindor would just be mostly quidditch and chaos. This is not perse bad but wouldn't fit as well. As for Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. While it can sometimes work. I don't think it will with this story. And the most important one. It is your story. If you think this works best then do it. Let your imagination go wild and write YOUR story.

I would need to change quite a few things in my plan for the story's future if I decide to change which House he is in. If it makes you feel better, Harry will have friends from all the houses, and his actions will cause other Slytherins to try and become friends with students from other Houses as well.

I don't really think it'll effect any key points of the story since he's intermingling. I don't remember, was both Daphne and Pansy slated to be a harem member? Cause the way you've written them so far, Slytherin is probably is best in with them.

I've read multiple stories with a Slytherin Harry that he bucked all their bull and dared them to do something about it. Something tells me that if he did that here no one is gonna wanna call his bluff. Itsia can be incredibly persuasive I bet.

I knew an author that let his audience decide things for him like that and he eventually grew tired of writing all together. Don't let them do that too you. You're too good an author for that. The nature of both is at least highly assertive and Iltis tends to "eliminate" any conflict together with its originator... Certainly no one could have expected a warm welcome and at least it seems somehow natural in Slytherin. But in the end, it's your story. You could also try experimenting with a branching storyline and write a few chapters for each house. But I think that would take up too much of your precious time and I want to see Slytherin Harry kick the ass of anyone who looks at his pet with an evil thought!

If you change it, it'll make it people think that they can force you to change things again in the future when they read something they don't like. By “badly abused”, I’m referring to some stories in this fandom that have Harry be very, very badly beaten and verbally abused and exploited. After such treatment, I don’t agree with you. People don’t come out of it, after suffering since they were a baby, by being sassy and witty and arrogant. Quiet and unassuming or filled with rage and anger yes but that’s not the Harry in this story. As I said the way Harry is portrayed doesn’t bother me too much. It’s just that at the end of the day, Harry is an inexperienced 11 year old. Got to take that into account. Just mentioning that in regards to his attitude with Snape and the other Slytherin

2024-07-17 22:04:19 +0000 UTCHonestly keep him in Slytherin as for the problem that many are say of him having his hole house against him I don't see that as a problem manly becuase at the after reading this new chapter he's progressing with his magic reather quickly so him being able to defend himself and actually make all of slytherin submit to him won't be a problem at least that how I see it but as regard to friends honestly i feel that Dalphne is slowly going to start coning around and be talking to him mainly because of how fast he doing all the magic in Class and when their Dalphne there's Tracy so he'll have two friends which if we're being honest Harry would be happy with two friends in Slytherin as he has all his other friends from the other houses. Other than that keep him in slytherin and keep up the great writing bro can't wait for next chapter

Some people react to being abused by being like Harry is in canon, quiet and unassuming because that's the easiest way to avoid being hurt, however there are plenty of people who reacted to being abused with fire and rage, or by just losing all desire to care about life at all. What I'm getting at is 'People are different.' so how this Harry reacts is normal for this Harry where it might not be for another Harry.

I still want Slytherin though

Sure he makes for a good, hateful antagonist but he can’t be Harry’s enemy if he’s in Slytherin. I’ve said this before (and it’s absolutely my opinion) but I feel like the Harry you’re writing is way older and more mature than an eleven year old would be. No matter what he’s suffered at the Dursley’s, he feels so sassy and intelligent and a little bit arrogant sometimes (there’s also the fact that if he was really badly abused, he’d be the opposite, but that’s a different argument). That’s not too much of a problem for me but your Harry won’t be able to survive alone in Slytherin if he keeps butting heads with everyone and insulting older kids. If Snape isn’t neutral or supportive of Harry, it’s going to be impossible for him to last. No matter how super duper magic or animals he has. I haven’t finished the chapter but basically, keep him in Slytherin, it’s a nice change and you can make very interesting storylines and character development. However Harry can’t have 99% of Slytherin and Snape gunning for his head. Maybe you’ve got all this planned out (maybe it’s even written in the chapter) but maybe Snape can change once he interacts with Harry. He hated Harry in canon partly because he was in Gryffindor, so let’s see… Sorry for the big text dump: if people got mad he’s in Slytherin, well too bad, there was a poll and we voted. Plus it’s your story so if you want to write Harry in Slytherin, go ahead. Wouldn’t it change a lot of your plot if you changed his House ?

There is no need to go back and change things just because some people came in later on expressing their dislike of 'Canon' Slytherin since as I mentioned before this is a fanfic that is practically taking place in a AU.
