Lyanna's Fate in Dance of The Dragonwolf?

When I first started planning this story back in December, I Planned that Lyanna would die during Childbirth. Princess Gael, would live and eventually become like a mother figure for Jon, especially after a certain event happens later in the story.

Now, I see many want Lyanna to survive. That's why I'm publishing this poll.

Gael will still live even if Lyanna lives since I have her whole Character arc planned for her.

The pairing in this story is Jon/Laena/Rhaenyra.

Let me know in the comments if you think about other suggestions.

It's already been voted the cannibal

ThatDudeSushi

Bro name him Maegor and just have him be ruthless to the right people and kind to the right people as well

ThatDudeSushi

At some point, the hero has to be on his own , fighting without the help of his parents. That is why Ned Stark gets killed in Book one. But you could have Lyanna live until the Dance of the Dragons.

CC100

Maybe make it so that Lyanna dies from being poisoned by Otto Hightower as a way to weaken Jon and Rhaenyra.

Gabe Sarti

True, Daemon wouldn't not support his brother's wish. Especially for someone who is not targ ( alicent )

Jake Randal

I think that would be true if Jon weren't there. But since Jon will most likely be a pivotal character and have at least some influence, he will replace Daemon in that regard. Not that Daemon won't support Rhaenyra, because I think he would.

Bryce Wilcox

Daemon should be the rogue prince should lyanna die but gael and him can also be paired since those 3 will be inseparable dont ya think

Winter

Love the pairing. Been on a Jon/Laena binge lately and this is helping fueling it. I voted for Lyanna to live. Theres not many stories where she does and I want to see how Jon would grow up with 2 loving parents

Dread XCII

I donโ€™t think this choice should be left up to the readers but to you since I think itโ€™s such a crucial part of the story.

Andrey Kravets

But without Daemon to back her up Rhaenyra wouldn't have had a dance, the blacks would've been slaughtered. Maybe im wrong but I have a feeling im not.

Jake Randal

Viserys naming Jon his heir and keeping him as heir even after the birth of Aegon II could work as well. Being Daemon's son and not Alicent's will cause it.

Bryce Wilcox

Out of curiosity, is he going to have silver hair and violet eyes? That would be great. What dragon will you have him bond with? Vermithor (personal favorite choice) or perhaps one of the wild dragons?

Bryce Wilcox

I think if she lives for a bit would be good. Give a couple of siblings. For example, Baela and Rhaena. Just older. Or two new characters, and Daemon or Jon (whatever Targaryen name you give him) can have Baela and Rhaena later. Maybe have her die in a third or fourth pregnancy, protecting Jon from an assassination, in a green conspiracy/plot, or another way. Maybe, if you write it in a way that makes sense, Daemon can be with Gael to get past their shared grief since she will be like a second mother to Jon. Lyanna could also survive the dance. That would be interesting to see as well. Also, love the Jon/Laena/Rhaenyra. Keep that. But don't make it immediate. Let them be close and build their friendship, then get together at 16-18 or later. But also let Jon explore a bit. Daemon is the Rouge Prince and not at all like Rhaegar. Give him a few of his qualities, like going to whore houses, a slight defiance of authority, and/or extreme sarcasm/sass. Make him a savage, is what I'm saying. Have him be one of the best knights, Jousters, Swordsman (Arthur Dayne Level?), etc. I am just throwing out ideas. I love the story so far. Regardless of whether you include any of this, I look forward to more.

Bryce Wilcox

Not necessarily. The only thing needed for the dance to happen is Rhaenyra as heir while Viserys also has a son of alicent.

vb

She doesn't, I second the Laena route, have her love Jon a bit and then zonk her on her second birth. It gives good character build for both Daemon and Jon to move forward more, roguishly. Innorder for the dance to happen, Daemon needed to have a turbulent head, also he and Rhaenyra have to be married as well .

Jake Randal

She lives... but mostly because it would be a pretty much uncharted territory for the fandom. There are so few stories where Lyanna doesn't die in childbirth. Not to mention that with pairing being Jon/Laena/Rhaenyra there will be no Baela and Rhaena (since there will be no Daemon/Laena) so Lyanna would serve as an easy option to get those two... because Jon need little sisters to look after and spoil.

Ripe

Will Jon have his memories of his previous life?

vb

Maybe her death can be a green conspiracy

RexRahulix93

I think it would be more interesting if she lives. And how a rouge like daemon interacts with such a presence especially in the dance.

Give me good fanfic

I hope they both get direwolves

Zemolidsey

I feel like best way would be if she lived through childbirth and die later through sickness or some nefarious plot, maybe assassination of Jon and she die protecting him. Well I cant wait what you will cook up tbh. ๐Ÿ˜

FangRu

Lyanna kinda needs to die for daemon to become the rogue prince that he is in the books. So i think maybe lyanna can die during 2nd childbirth so jon atleast have some memories of her and i really would like to see jon have atleast 1 or 2 real siblings from the same mother. I want jon to have some fond memories of him spending with his mother especially if he's going to remember his death.

Leorichs

It would be cool if both she and Jon have direwolves too

GodoftheSeas21

I feel like it would be amazing to see the story if she lives after birthing Jon(whatever his Valyrian name will be) so he could experience what its like to have a loving mother and fun aunt in Gael but maybe a few years later Lyanna dies by sickness or childbirth like Laena would in the canon timeline

Gamer_Jaystewart

yes she deserves to live and be happy with her husband and children.

Kinggn

Lyanna could still die later due to a disease or accident. As long as Jon gets to know her and have memories of her i think its fine no matter what. Because this way Jon learns to love those who are close to him and knows that not everything last and so they must be cherished and prioritize family as much as possible. This will allow Jon to have a mature way of looking at the world and know that the pain of losing someone doesnt mean they are gone forever for they live in the hearts and minds of those who are left behind.

BlackFish

I want her to live but not for too long
