In the update post comment section, I stated I was going to post a list of the magic rituals that Cartwright and Tenner already know of that they use in their cases to help audiences going forward. These rituals are in their basic state, they can be modified for extra stipulations such as length of the spell, the activation of the spell, etc.
Casting a spell will drain Cartwright's energy (its a good thing he keeps a thermos of coffee with him~), the more complicated the spell (whether a modified existing ritual or an improvised one), the more energy is required. s Cartwright stated, blood can be used to imbue the inscription however there is always a possibility it might mutate from its original purpose. Also noteworthy is that blood and other materials like chalk can be used in the creation of inscription.
Here are the rituals, feel free to think outside the box with their implementation:
Detection - This ritual detects an ideal , and the ritual requires a object to become a medium. Said object needs to have a property to it that can allow it to depict multiple potential entities/point to a source, etc. (For example: Tenner's watch is the medium imbued with a variant of this ritual that states how many entities have been in the current vicinity of the watch, not including Tenner.)
Intuition - This ritual depicts the truth physically based on the information Cartwright and Tenner learn, typically requires a material that can transcribe the information, e.g, chalk.
Protection - This ritual is your classic warding ritual, typically requires salt or materials that are used to keep things at bay. Think your classic circle of salt, seal of solomon, etc; This can be used to keep something in or out of the specified area, protect a person from harm against something, etc.
Severance - This ritual separates two ideals from each other. These ideals can be physical or metaphysical. This ritual typically requires a tool to be used as a medium to act as the separator, however if left unspecified, the caster's hands will be imbued and become the medium instead. (For example, this could be used to sever a medium that was imbued, sever something that was tethered, break a chain, perform an exorcism etc)
Commune - This ritual required an object to become a medium that has the property of being able to produce sound, e.g a radio, a phone, etc. This ritual pierces through the thin veil of this realm and allows The Voices That Be to interact with Cartwright and Tenner briefly in their investigation. Be warned though, The Voices That Be are not used to the mortal realm's flow of time nor their tongue, so their advice is often confused, vague, cryptic or seemingly unrelated.
