badger brothers

so I've had this character kind of in the background for a long time named brent, chubby badger guy, wealthy CEO type. I've mentioned him in passing and I may have even uploaded a pic or sketch or two here over the years. for a long time I didn't do too much with him, mostly because I was indecisive and I was underwhelmed by my first attempts at drawing him (and felt like I couldn't improve upon it at the time). lately I've been in the mood to try revisiting him and his son, brody.

although... something unexpected happened. I was sketching the brothers when a friend mistook them for three separate badgers rather than different sketches of the same character. and I thought, triplets would be fun. brent having three sons that he struggles to keep up with is a fun idea... and the brothers themselves would probably have some fun dynamics. over the past few days I've fiddled with the idea and these three are the fruits of my labors: brody, bryce, and brett.

brett, technically the oldest (born first) is sort of the more level headed of the three. usually listens to their dad, has no interest in fighting with either of his brothers, and tends to be pretty sensible. his "lazy" appearance doesn't really scream this, you'll almost never catch him wearing a shirt and his pants seem as though they're always about to slide off. he isn't immune entirely to his brothers' more rambunctious antics, though is smart enough to sit them out if they seem foolish enough.

brody is the middle twin and he is probably one of the more easily summed up of the three as he is a trope I often toy with - the dumb jock. a footballer of course, his two primary pursuits in life are getting swole and chasing hot girls. he's also a bit of a cranky ass when it comes to his brothers, particularly bryce, whom he is quick to call a spoiled brat and will easily yell about how he always get his way. in reality, brody wants to be the one getting his way and is pretty jealous that bryce always has their dad wrapped around his finger. keep in mind though all three of these badgers are treated very well... brody just has wild expectations.

the "youngest" brother, bryce, is of course a pretty boy who always combs his fur just right and seems to have perpetual bedroom eyes. bryce considers himself the polar opposite of his brother brody, batting his eyelashes and acting suave to swoon his partners as opposed to brody's more brutish meathead approach where most of his interactions with potential candidates consists of flexing and talking about his football plays. truth be told, despite the obvious differences between the two both sort of miss the forest for the trees when it comes to romance, they just have different approaches. this younger badger does however have a hold on their father, whom he can always sweet talk until he gets what he wants, much to brody's dismay. needless to say, the two spend a lot of time fighting because of this sibling rivalry. it's not uncommon for a situation to escalate into a shouting match or even full on wrestling, and it's only made worse because bryce kinda loves rubbing it in...

and that sums them up pretty well, I got a bit carried away writing about them but I wanted to explain their traits thoroughly. pics of badger dad incoming! I've just been on a roll with these three and kind of had them on the brain...
