so... this year I really wanted to try to do at least one halloween themed pic? I'm actually pretty into the holiday, I don't know if many know that about me. I don't do much to celebrate it in person aside from watch some personal favorite 80s slasher movies every year but I do really dig the aesthetic and general feel of this time of the year.
do not worry! tre is totally fine, he's just getting done up with some very special make up for a grizzly halloween costume, by a super talented artist that might look a bit familiar! yeah, I'm once again expanding character families... dude is unnamed, but I thought it'd be neat if JV's grandpa was a veteran makeup/effects artist for horror movies and the like. has quite the legacy. it's a bit odd maybe to assume he'd do small jobs like this but hey, its fun. plus he gets to mess with these boys when they get impatient about how long it's taking.
this was a pic that started out a bit shaky, wasn't sure if it was going to turn out how I wanted, and now that it's done I think it's actually one of the best pieces I've done this year! a nice sensical background (a rarity in my work, I feel) and just vibrant color work, plus the characters look good and tre looks very nice I think. I had to work in a nipple slip, I just can't help myself when he is the center of a pic. it's reasonable, these jock boys wear a lot of loose floppy tanktops and the like, it's gonna happen.
obviously, this is two layers of fake blood, it's fictional and the depiction of it here even is that it's fake, but I hope it doesn't turn anyone away. I actually have a surprisingly sensitive disposition toward violence, it just depends on the subject matter and the medium it's being portrayed in, it's actually a pretty confusing spectrum for me and it makes consumption of media a bit difficult but that is what we have imdb for. it's just funny to me that I don't recall ever drawing blood in my art until now.
love yall and I hope you enjoy!
