THE SANDMAN S2 EP 4-5 FULL LENGTH REACTION

Yeah, in the comics she's almost entirely unhinged to the point of being incoherent most of the time. To the point that even the other members of the family barely understand her the majority of the time. Her mind was completely and entirely broken by whatever unknowable Truth she discovered that none of the other cosmic entities in the universe have learned yet.

Yes, Delirium's eyes are not only different colors, but she does have the pupil dilation of one eye that normally indicates confusion or other brain damage. It's tied to the whole backstory that she was originally Delight, and discovered a Truth (capital T intentional) about the universe that none of the other Endless comprehend. And that is what broke her mind and fundamentally changed her aspect. Which is crazy given they aren't actually people, but the personification of conceptual forces of existence. Delirium does have feelings. But she's not the only one. Dream and Destiny are more exceptions than rules. They are the only two of the family that are always trying to be serious and indifferent 24/7. Side note, I love that Desire calls Delirium "Del". Works for both Delight and Delirium. Desire likes to screw with Dream mostly just to get a rise out of him. It's crazy how dysfunctional the Endless family is. The thing I always found ironically amusing is that it's Death and Destruction who are the most well adjusted and likeable of the Endless. - Your Friendly Overworked IT Guy

Delirium is my favorite—I could do with a whole Delirium/Delight series. Apparently she’s a lot more unhinged in the comics. Just wanted to note that Eurydice was not in hell as we think of it—Hades/the Underworld is distinct from biblical Hell, and it’s where all the dead go. It contains places of punishment, like Tartarus (where the wicked go for punishment), but also places of peace like the Elysian Fields. In a biblical context, it’s a place where souls go to await the last judgement, a temporary place, before going to either Heaven or the Lake of Fire (eternal Hell). Hades is often translated as hell, but it’s not the same thing. To the ancient Greeks, Hades was the final destination of all souls. Hades is also the name of the God who ruled the Underworld, which takes on his name.

The whole part with Ishtar gives strong American Gods vibes! Did you watch that show? Season 1 was absolutely brilliant. I didn’t see season 2 and 3, which were embroiled in a LOT of issues and were received very negatively, but that first season was absolutely peak. It has similar themes of Gods being as powerful as belief, and dying from non belief. I think the last half of season 2 is my favorite story thread of the show. There’s just something about the family dynamics and mythologies that I just really love.

We did get to know the wife a little in the extra episode from season 1. And they mentioned they had a son together. But it would have been nice to know them a little more.
