2025-06-14 19:00:39 +0000 UTCI never fail to be surprised by poll results! So fascinating! Just a few thoughts on the current top two: The cool thing is, Sherlock and Buffy are really different. Sherlock is British, filmed on location, adapted from classic literature, it has a feature film look to it...it reeks of quality in so many ways. The writing is great, the mysteries are fantastic, the characters are great, the acting is great, and still, with all that, it's funny in moments which seem like a lovely extra treat! The show is oddly short...it's just a few seasons with only 3 episodes each season (although each episode is somewhat longer than normal). Also, funny aside -- my man, Mike, loves it with an unholy love. He's one of the fanboys who were once lovingly known as "Benedict's Cumberbitches". 😂 There's something about Sherlock which, after you watch it, you feel like you engaged in a worthwhile pursuit and somehow you've become a bit more highbrow just by exposure! ...And then there is Buffy, one of many people's favorite guilty pleasure! Not that Buffy isn't something to be proud of -- as a youngster, I was a loud and proud Buffy fan for real. But my dad would watch it with me, begrudgingly loving it the entire time! Buffy is fun and funny...lots of action...very American, filmed on set, etc. But it was groundbreaking in many ways. While Sherlock modernized Arthur Conan Doyle's classic literature, Buffy was what's new...completely original and edgy for its time. It was very empowering for so many young women and girls back then (but was good enough to have a ton of male fans too). Btw, I talked my man, Mike, into watching it with me not long ago -- and yep, the big 6'4" manly-man football player is now a Buffy fan! It intentionally addresses a number of tough or sticky topics, thus is often touching. It almost intentionally hides its moments depth and profundity behind humor or action -- but the meaningful parts are definitely there. It's a long show, thus had the freedom to get really creative with some episodes. There are some really special episodes -- award winning episodes. It's hard not to enjoy Buffy (just ask my dad!). As I'm sure you know, Buffy is done by Joss Wheadon, too -- similar humor and whatnot to Firefly. With all the differences, there's a million reasons why both Sherlock and Buffy are beloved by so many people still today -- they absolutely both have their own distinctive brand of charm. 🙏❤😇

2025-06-13 23:18:12 +0000 UTCOnce again I’m making my plea for Shrinking. It’s one of those shows that’ll you’ll be mad you didn’t watch sooner. I’m iffy on Andor. I think it was great story telling but I did not like way Black people were portrayed on that show.

2025-06-13 21:59:51 +0000 UTCDang it - I wish more people would watch Shrinking, because it would definitely be higher voted if more people had seen it. Ah well. It's so good!

2025-06-13 13:54:02 +0000 UTCThere's so many amazing shows on the list but considering I was just gearing up for my first ever Buffy rewatch myself, I can't help but be partial to that one. Especially since I keep coming back to your Inteview with the Vampire reactions because I've really enjoyed hearing your thoughts about vampires and the discussions that come with them, like how much you can hold them to human standards and morals, etc. Which come up in Buffy pretty often, along with many other interesting topics which is one of the reasons why Buffy is such a classic show that I'd say definitely holds up even all these years later. Plus, as much as I love Louis and Lestat, a certain vampire in this show still holds the first spot in my heart because they have one of the best character arcs I've seen in a TV show but I could just be biased 😂

2025-06-13 13:38:23 +0000 UTCI will always vote for Ozark. It is such a compelling crime thriller with unexpected and very intricate plot twists. The characters keep you engaged with a masterful and brilliant cast. Such a dark story about the consequences of criminality, how far people will go to protect each other and their families. Fine testament to the strength of human spirit. Each episode gives you a reason to keep watching. I personally feel it is a standout in the crime drama genre. And then there is Dexter, can't go wrong there either, love it!!!

2025-06-13 09:34:38 +0000 UTCYEEE ANDOR IS ON THE LIST! I can't stress how good it is, rooting for that and Twin Peaks!! I'm a huge Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss fan, idk if it's exactly your speed but you might enjoy it (and somebody mentioned the fans being bad, I don't agree with that nor do I think the bad apples will show up in your audience tbh) but I DO know that because Hazbin is a musical that Amazon has rights to, reactions to it on YouTube are a nightmare to edit around.

2025-06-13 07:34:59 +0000 UTCI REALLY hope you do Sherlock! I'm also hoping you'll consider Doctor Who at some point, Resident Alien (with Alan Tyduk aka Wash from Firefly), and Rome. :). I know it's show stuff, but just putting it out there I hope for a movie you'll consider I Am Sam....no one ever reacts to it even though it's a really good movie and it makes me sad.
