PS: lol, I had my own footage synced up and didn't even recognize that's unnecessary until you paused for the first time... 🤣

Joss did it himself and he gives a lot of insight into the characters and his writing choices. Definitely have a listen if you can. It add an extra dimension to loving the show

You nailed what’s so strong about this one right on the head— the tone for Mal as a leader, as captain, as almost a father figure to most of the crew, is really perfect here. That last line from him in the infirmary is IT for me: y’all gonna be here when I wake up? Like he is also starting to show how much he needs his crew, not just the other way around. Next one is the GOAT for me…. Ariel time. 👀👀👀

2025-06-11 01:27:03 +0000 UTCI'm not familiar with your military background, but here's mine—14 years in the U.S. Navy on two Submarines (we call them Boats). I'm glad you were able to see Malcolm's leadership abilities. Most don't. In my 14 years in the submarine service, I've only had one captain that I'd follow on a suicide mission. Malcolm Reynolds would have been another captain I'd join on a suicide mission ( if I was single). Thanks for really understanding what a leader Malcolm really was.
