Just knowing the show, I couldn't believe they killed off Pedro Pascal. Not knowing the game, I don't understand your allegiance to Abby. I want Ellie to end her. He shot her dad in the head killing him instantly because he was protecting his "daughter". She relished in torturing Joel. I try not to say "hate" about people or even characters... just a strong feeling to carry around. But I hate her.

They’re definitely going for something a little different with this version of Abby, but I put that down to the change in medium. You can’t play AS her in the show so they need to change how they make you empathize with her. Edit: okay wait just finished listening to your closing thoughts and you’re right BUT I think the problem isn’t even in this episode. It’s the grave scene at the beginning of the last one. They decided to do away with the mystery of why Abby killed him completely, and that’s a loss. I’m honestly good with them switching up the timeline thing they did in the game bc I thought it was clunky even then, but they should have made the show viewers sit with the “why” a little longer. Ppl are going to hate her anyway, at least keep the mystery alive.

2025-04-22 04:31:27 +0000 UTCI am 1000% onboard with you. The fact she didn't hit him in the head with the golf club and no one spit on him sort of dulled the impact for me. I understand they have been trying to protect Kaitlyn from death threats, but to do it at the expense of making that moment less impactful leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I kept waiting for the club to the head and it never came. I also felt like there was a little too much exposition. I mean, let folks figure some stuff out. Overall, still a good episode. I understand the characters being moved to other parts of the chessboard (Dina knows who everyone is, so we can skip the whole poloroids thing), and Joel being distracted by Jackson makes it more believable that he dropped his guard. I guess I'm just disappointed that they didn't play "that" scene for all it was worth.

2025-04-22 00:34:33 +0000 UTCI knew what was gonna happen eventually because I'd heard lots of spoilers, but I definitely can't say I'm a fan of Abby even knowing what was coming...I hope Ellie finds her. I didn't know there were threats to the game actor though, that's really messed up and hopefully doesn't happen with the TV show's Abby actor. Something similar happened with the Killing Eve series finale, I hated it and a lot of people did, but some people sent death threats to the S4 showrunner and that whole toxic drama ruined my opinion of that fandom.

Knowing the hatred that was shown to Laura Bailey, I do not honestly think they could’ve pulled off exactly how it went in the game. I mean, I’m already seeing the worst shit said about Kaitlyn Dever after last night. I went into this episode, most of all, being worried as hell about people in this show’s safety, especially her.

I showed some of the game version for comparison at the end of the video..in game they hit him in the head with the golf club and spit on his corpse and ellie never got to hug him..she was kicked in the face and passed out. People were outraged!!! And I HATED abby..but like I say she's my fave character..they made her a bit more assholeish in my opinion here though. I cannot even imagine the shock you must of had as a show only viewer with no spoilers. I'm sorry Melissa trust me..we have been there and it HURTS💔

That was brutal, shocking (not a game player), and devastating. So, yeah, I'm an Abby hater most def right now. But as I've heard said . . . I reserve the right to change my mind. Why must HBO/MAX continue to do PP this way??!! 😫
