Update : I have to mention, I talked the man into continuing season 3 (in a past post I mentioned we tried watching season 3 and kept nodding off until my hubby declared himself bored and done. 😂)...but we decided to keep going and I am thrilled to report, it got better! MUCH BETTER. Not saying it's as strong as season 1, perhaps...but absolutely worth watching (imho). I hereby officially withdraw any uncertainty I had about whether season 3 would be a fun watch. 🙏❤😇

Can't wait for the next episodes. 🤗 Taco, I feel your reaction this much!!! How you looked because of the weird teenie stuff. You were saying exactly the things I had in my head while watching it with you. I wonder if the little boy somehow acts out the trauma of his mum as kids are very sensitive or if there is something else strange about him.

So that may have been the case with Yellowjackets. I’ve been dying to see it, but just haven’t set aside the time to watch it on my own yet. I’m so excited ! Let’s go lesbians !!

2025-03-18 18:12:39 +0000 UTCjust finished watching, so as for the shauna thing in ep 1, totally normal to feel weird about it, i think everyone does. typically this show is very unapologetic with the way they portray the characters, they aren't meant to be good people, you are supposed to find it hard to figure out if you can justify what they do based on the situation they're in or on their trauma. but that scene in specific is one thing that hasn't been brought back up since so i think they've moved past that, even forgotten about it on purpose. with that being said, i think it was def apart of her "trying to relive the teenage life she missed out on" arc she has this season, but it was also a very odd and out there way of introducing her character. was it needed? probably not, i can only assume the writers just wanted to really show she isn't supposed to be a good person & how deep the trauma goes??? who knows lmao. it def shocks everyone who watches.

The masturbation scene is a really off-putting way to intro modern-day Shauna but highlights something for us right away— none of them are right or well and the trauma is working its way out in different ways for each of them. Natalie uses drugs, Taissa is obsessed with success/overachieving, and Shauna’s is sex. She has access to safe, appropriate sex with Jeff but it’s boring, and why exactly her trauma is tied up with all of that is a question the show will keep coming back to. -It’s easy to miss even without your eye issues, but when Travis is trying to get his dad down from the tree, his dad reaches out for him right before he falls. He was still alive when the branch fell. -Misty is such an interesting character too— like one second you feel bad for her and have sympathy for her, and the next she’s the most evil little guy on screen 😂 such a testament to the performances of both versions.

2025-03-18 15:19:21 +0000 UTCthis show is one of my absolute faves, it's up there with interview with the vampire (though thats always my number 1) i'm so glad you're watching it, def a CRAZY show to go into blind though lmao. you also mentioned the show dark was an option, i hope you'll do that one day too because once again, incredible show, but yellowjackets is HUGE right now, it's 3rd season is currently going so it makes complete sense why it won.
