No page for 4-26-18

Sorry everyone, I'm not going to be able to get the page done in time.

It's not artist burnout this time though, just a lot of frustration on my end, as well as just being busy with work.

Lately I've been getting quite fed up with social media. I've spent a little bit of money for advertisements, with very little turn-around. I've noticed a lot of twitter posts being largely ignored, and just a general sense of shame I feel for not being able to get more readers onto my comic.

So I have to take a step back and try to figure out if I'm really making this comic for fun, or if I'm just making it for numbers, you know?

I don't want to make this comic feeling resentment, I want to work on this comic because I enjoy it. Right now, I need to change my mindset. I need to enjoy working on this comic.

Might finish the comic by Sunday, we'll see.

Brujagh isn't exactly a lol, cute kitteh sound bite of the kind social media is suited to. Neither is most of my own work. Like most people I know, I'm minimally active on social media. I push the occasional bit suited to the platforms and deliver the rest elsewhere where the audience is either more interested or circumstances are more suited to long-form engagement. If I wanted to drive clicks and likes I'd have to design very differently and demand far less of viewers. But, as it is, my interests lie in more complex stories. So, in my opinion, Brujagh is very much a story worth telling. For driving traffic, joining SpiderForest seems an option to consider. My sense is Webtoons is fairly high traffic and good at moving readers across webcomics, though it may not be the ideal match. Also, other webcomic authors I follow have advertised on TWC and been satisfied with the response, though it might not be as large as you're looking for.

Gotta take care of personal shit first, then the comic. If you aren't happy, your comic will reflect. Monetization will come with time. But, who wants to pay for poor work? Again, personal life first. Additionally, I don't have twitter. Or instagram, or snapchat... just facebook. And I'm 30.
