IWTV S2 EP 4 REACTION

IWTV S2 EP 4 REACTION

Comments

I think we’ll find out in season 3. 😉

Devon Michelle

I have Patreon for all three, too! They are the best but I really like Taco’s insights. That’s why I’m staying subscribed here and also with Frank Freezy and MovieMan 101. I wanna keep supporting these guys cuz they make watching much more entertaining than watching alone.

Devon Michelle

you, FrankFreezy and MovieMan101 are the holy trinity of IWTV reactions, god tier commentary

elena

FINALLY I got to see this reaction and it was great as always! I will say Taco: feel free to pause every time, feel free to speak your mind, crazy theories (and not so crazy ones) and feel free to push that 15seconds back bottom. Because honestly for me that is the best thing about your reactions! I love when you dissect and go back and everything! ❤️‍🔥

Victoria

I saw on yt that you posted ep5 on patreon so I had to join :))) catching up with the reactions and I absolute love the context you provide and the attention to every details! You mentioned multiple times that these videos are too long and honestly they are not. Personally I love long form content and I know I'm not alone. There is so much to talk abiut this show you simply can't just make some short videos on it so don't worry, people who are here for this would love the commentary.

Irina Luca

The cliffhanger😂😂😂😂😂 I literally pressed rewind like 4times thinking I'd missed something 🤣‼️ got me SO good😂‼️

AmandaLoLo

I cannot WAIT for you to watch the second half of this season. I truly think episodes 5-8 are the best episodes of the entire show and some of the best episodes of television ever made. You are going to LOVE episode 5!! Your mind will be reeling at how much there is to interpret!

Mia

Hmmmm🤔💭💭let me get back to you on this one

Raymond Walker

1000 out of 10 he has been perfect

Raymond Walker

Don't forget lol

Raymond Walker

2+ hours🤭🤭that would be crazy

Raymond Walker

Wow!!thank you Christina

Raymond Walker

I just wanna say how astounded I am by how your reactions have elevated my own enjoyment and thinking regarding this show. As someone who read the books watched the movies and the show you still provide such keen insight it’s amazing ty so much

Christina

Burning is actually more deadly for vampires unlike throat slitting..

Mary

Lol I understand…I need your FULL attention tho from here on out particularly…not that we didn’t have that before…but I feel like from this point on your pauses and commentaries are going to be crazy, lengthy and more often than usual…easily 2hour+ reactions lol…I’m totally here for it👍🏾

Monte Maurice

🤣🤣🤣🤣my bad big dawg..my eyes need the rest or I won't even make it through the episode..and I really don't want that..it'll taint the reaction as well..im sorry 🙏🏿♥️

Raymond Walker

They ended the episode like the series finale of “The Sopranos”…just fade to black on you lol…bro hurry up with Ep5…pleasssssssse!!!!!!

Monte Maurice

I do wonder if Louis resolving himself to "break up" with imaginary Lestat is a callback and reverse of season 1's finale plan. Give nothing of his heart to Lestat anymore so he can exert control over Armand and protect Claudia. The show writers are insane for pulling off narrative cycles that feel so natural and like, having a conduit to the viewers (i.e. Daniel) that never once breaks your immersion. 'Cause I've definitely seen characters in other tv shows that feel like an extension of the writers' room. But back to Armand, ik his ass was CHAPPED when he realized how Lestat hovered over their relationship, i'd be pissed 'cause wdym you said I love you to spite your imaginary ex. 😭

birdie

You are too funny! I love it here😂You said “don’t neither one of yall know shit!” And I was on the floor 😂😂😂 NOT SPOILER only ref what we’ve seen. There’s a lot of bird references. No clue about the “purpose or meaning” just interesting to me. Paul at the dinner table “the birds told me to ask you” and then he walked himself off the roof image of him dead on the concrete. Episode 1 season 2 when that bird came out of Dreamstat’s throat. Now Claudia as Lulu, “birdie likes the breeze” jumping out a window dead on the concrete I love the Screenwriters and all the other talents involved in the show even if I don’t get everything 😂

icedchy

That's so interesting! I would have pegged Lestat as a Leo. Actually, a triple Leo! 😂

ArcAngel

I kinda want to bite my tongue on it until the end because I don’t want to spoil anything. But don’t worry lol I’ll be saying my peace at the right time

Acacia

Couldn't agree more! They love the books and revere Anne so much, and it shows.

Melissa

in regard to?

Melissa

Idk... Leatat had his throat slit, and Louis walked into the sun and burned... All we know is that they set fire to Marius. Armand didn't actually see him die...

Indi500

Yeah I get that but he did in private speak up for her hit again it wasn’t his place to speak up for her in public because he isn’t a part of it, that’s all I’m saying

Martin Gage

I got you..I wasnt aware that was one big "landmine" in the fandom lol with time to process i still want to believe my first intinterpretation was hopefully the intent but it's a very intriguing discussion topic

Raymond Walker

Right. I try my best not to spoil things so even little hints I’ll erase it lol

Jackie Owe

My birthday is today! lol happy early birthday!

Jackie Owe

Yea I definitely have called out Louis before about his lack of communication with her about the danger they were in. I’m going to leave it there so I don’t spoil it but I’m just talking about her following the rules of the coven and being punished when she doesn’t. I don’t think he can save her every time she gets in trouble due to coven rules. But I definitely get why you’re saying otherwise.

Jackie Owe

@ Martin Gage, he burned in a fire so he must be dead.

Mary

I think that's a reasonable opinion in some ways. In this show it feels like everyone is in the wrong at some point -- or at many points, depending. What in particular were you thinking about?

ArcAngel

Louis shares a birthday (October 4th) with Anne Rice. Lestat has the same bday as her husband, Stan - he’s a scorpio.

Valaree

unpopular opinion but i think claudia's in the wrong. :/

Acacia

Oh and Ben Daniels as Santiago was just eating it up for me. I loved his whole lore from his look with the cape and that voice mimicking calling Louie out.. so good.

Partrice

happy birthday taco!!!

Acacia

When I tell you how pissed I was in this episode especially at Louie. Yes he had some valid points (and so did Claudia) that she wanted this but when he hit her with the “that doesn’t sound like something he do”. I said Claudia if one more of these vamps including Louie put their hands around your neck girl and yoke you up.. whew. Claudia need to learn some vamp self defense fast. Strap up and hold on you’re half way there.

Partrice

I totally forgot! I had one more question. You mentioned that this show is one of the top 5 or 10 best shows you’ve ever seen. What’s on your list? Is GOT on it?

darkparadise.

Libra men...allegedly! You're a handful...allegedly. 😂 Lets see what else do I remember from that book... you are supposed to favor the color blue and have a penchant for soft things (like apparently it's a good bet that a Libra man will have a favorite soft blue bathrobe or sweater or something) which they love way too much! And yes...they seem to argue about everything even if you think you're agreeing with them, they might still argue. Too impossible for one lifetime! 😂

ArcAngel

Awww! And wow! Thank you for sharing and DMs open and ready 😂

darkparadise.

Is Louis really a Libra??

ArcAngel

Yea i wanted to say his skin tone doesn't even look the same but I keep an orange filter on the screen for my eyes so the painting actually was sort of "melanated" but truly sad, his bsckstory is tragic Taco was given to me by my best friends mom miss Maribel..she used to make me 13 enchiladas stacked or 6 tacos at a time for me..so it turned from "come get your tacos" to, "hey taco your plates on the table ". I was 6ft3 already by age 16 so I was eating everything in sight..I'll have to DM you about the Fox part lmao

Raymond Walker

Also Louis had no issue giving Santiago a whoopin in front of everyone when HE was being played with. Then when Armand told Louis to stay put dude took off. Completely disregarded Armand, so he has no issue speaking or acting out for "himself". I'm left to conclude Louis didn't help Claudia because he might want her to suffer her own consequences " a little bit" like "I've been following you for 5 years..no no you seeing this through" lol

Raymond Walker

This entire thread put a smile on my face. This community is amazing. Thank you all for this☺️

Raymond Walker

I think it's so devastating how Armand talks about how no one has painted him in over 400 years. And yet in the painting, it doesn't even look like him. The person in the painting looks White. Even then, he wasn't truly seen or allowed to exist. Random and also kind of relevant due to the importance of names and identity this episode. How did you choose FoxTaco?

darkparadise.

Thank you for sharing this!!! I didn't think about Paul's little birds!!!

darkparadise.

Difficult WHAAATTT!!! me?? NEVER 😈🤫 lol

Raymond Walker

Whaaaaaaat hahahha

Raymond Walker

Louis is a Libra 😁

Valaree

Armand says “they set fire to my maker”. Anything beyond that would be speculation.

Valaree

So do we think it’s still possible that Marius is still alive then?

Martin Gage

thank you

Raymond Walker

libra i am lol

Raymond Walker

episode 5 here we come

Raymond Walker

🤣🤣🤣 I gotta interact a Lil bit, as long as we aren't discussing my Claudia Theory it's all good

Raymond Walker

I don't think it should matter if he wasn't it is about solidarity. He was granted dispensation, I am not saying his voice would have changed the punishment however it would have shown to Claudia that he had her back because she had his in the same convo she had to speak up and say " This has nothing to do with Louis"

Valentine

So imagine louis is watching a play depicting aspects of his brother's death/suicide played by his sister claudia. [REDACTED] Poor Paul and shame on Sam for writing it

Miki

Btw, the second season is based on a small portion of the first book. 99% of theater scenes was written by the show writers and Rolin Jones, the showrunner. And it’s all blended so well with what Anne Rice herself wrote that it seems a miracle, honestly. These guys deserve all the awards for adapted screenplay because of the work they did. There are a lot of changes but somehow they seem like something Anne herself would write if she was a more contemporary writer and/or just came up with a slightly different idea. Like they change stuff left and right but somehow they manage to return to the same place Anne was in, hammer her point but also add so much on top of that. They truly understand the core themes and plot of the source material.

Mary

Since Louis wasn’t a part of the coven I don’t think it was his place to speak up for Claudia, yes she did look his way for help but she can take care of herself

Martin Gage

Your reaction to the cliffhanger was so relatable 🤣🤣🤣 And to think that it’s a cliffhanger to one of the best episodes in the series.

Mary

I knew once you started you were not going to stop in the middle of the show. That is impossible!

Yvette

If Louis had told her, it's possible she wouldn't have joined the coven. Now we would never know. yes, it was her choice, he was so wrong for not telling her! Shame on Louis.

Yvette

I hope it can be useful but just to summarize what Armand was saying about himself: - He only remembers fragments about his childhood. He was called Arun. But he almost forgot his name after constant abuse. - He was sold as a slave to a captain of an European ship when he was 15yo. - He was shackled on the ship then was sold in a brothel in Venice. - Marius De Romanus, an even more ancient vampire, found him there and bought him from the brothel. Marius gave him a new name: Amadeo. - Marius was a painter and friend/benefactor of painters. This painting was made by a friend of his when Armand was 20yo. - This was one of the instances of Armand being “donated” by Marius to one of his friends. Basically Marius groomed Armand to be his personal sexual slave. - Marius didn’t want to turn him into into a vampire. But when Armand turned 27yo he was stricken by a severe illness so Marius turned him into a vampire. - At some point Roman coven set Marius’ studio on fire and Armand believes Marius died in the fire too. - Roman coven then changed Amadeo’s name to Armand and sent him to be the leader of the French coven.

Mary

I was HURT!

Raymond Walker

Are you doing star charts for our coven? 😉

Melissa

Sorry not sorry, it’s the best cliffhanger in the history of cinema 💅🏻 also love that you delivered a monologue about staying out of the comments and here you are 😂

Natasha

The last two episodes are my favorites of the series, but the next one is really special in ways you'll understand once you see it. Television at it's very best.

Karen Wood

The way I CACKLED with laughter to your reaction when the credits started to roll! OMG I loved your reaction!

Tasia Barrett

😮Natasha!! 🤣🤣🤣..that's cruel lmao

Raymond Walker

That, too! 😂 There's a famous astrologer who wrote some incredibly popular astrology books -- maybe in the 60s? Maybe earlier? They are a bit outdated (culturally... like spending way too much time talking about if females are good housekeepers and stuff...outdated with regard to rolls of women, mostly). Her name is Linda Goodman. Anyway, she wrote a book called Sun Signs and another called Love Signs and I can't remember which book this quote comes from but I remember it cuz it made me LAUGH! She said, "Libra men are proof of reincarnation because nobody could become that impossible from just one lifetime.". 😂 Im loving it cuz in the beginning of this reaction you told us you like to argue! 😭 I'm laughing but I say this with love -- my dad raised me to push back, too. My family loves to argue so much...debating is practically a sport at family reunions -- I empathize! TBH, if people are too nice it makes me suspicious! But yeah...Libra men are apparently somewhat difficult....in a balanced sort of way? For whatever that's worth? I don't know what to think about astrology...theoretically, astrology makes no sense...but then sometimes it weirdly makes sense? 😂

ArcAngel

🤣🤣🤣

Raymond Walker

We're balanced 🤷🏿‍♂️🤣

Raymond Walker

Happy early birthday, Libra man! You know what they say about Libra men, no?

ArcAngel

So you're a Libra, eh? Hmmmm...

ArcAngel

Meeeeee Toooooooooo!!!

ArcAngel

Meee tooooo!!!

ArcAngel

Why did they have to animate Claudia laying an egg on the stage, tho? Had to be Santiago's petty input...

ArcAngel

Yup insane with that context

Raymond Walker

Re: the theater subject matter, Louis made the observation that all their plays are morbid or violent or both. They had the grim reaper on stage a few times already! 😂

ArcAngel

I ask that you rewatch the play and view through the lense of louis brother. The birds...the Fall from the house... the blind mother to child's needs... I clutched my pearls

Miki

I always saw this as Armand willingly going back into the subservient role that he has played for most of his human life. He also mentions in the museum that he didn’t want to be in charge, he was forced into the role. To me, this was Louis offering the opportunity for Armand to give up a portion of his power in a way that he was used to and familiar with. However, just because Armand wasn’t particularly used to another dynamic while in a relationship, or a one-to-one interaction with another person in general, doesn’t mean that was the best dynamic for him. Armand says he doesn’t know who he is and oddly enough, neither does Louis… just the blind leading the blind atp

Indi500

Good idea, Jessica! I had a question about episode seven yesterday that I wanted to bring up, and when I tried to think about it just now, for a moment, I couldn’t remember! Definitely going to write it down now.

Indi500

Happy early birthday!

Indi500

Ep 5 is one of my faves in the season, but the eps get better each one from here, which is absolutely ridiculous. Can’t wait for your next reaction. Also, I never even thought about the similarities between Claudia‘s play and her current circumstances as a potential use of foreshadowing,, which is absolutely dumb of me lol. And the conversation she has with Madeline outside the theater? Definitely never thought of anywordplay! Your reactions make me think in more detail than I do normally, which I definitely appreciate

Indi500

When you posted yesterday “sorry y’all, just about to do the next ep after a long day” I was here like evilly rubbing my hands together because I KNEW it would end with this and you’d be stuck at the end of the day with it and not enough time to watch the next one. I was lucky bc I binged it after the whole season was out so did wind up staying up till 1am to watch ep 5.

Natasha

Woohoo! The cure for these withdrawals! Thank you!! ❤🌮❤

ArcAngel

I couldn't even gather myself to do the review at first..i needed more episode!

Raymond Walker

Thank you for dropping this! I can't wait to see you react to the next one! :)

Nicole Soza

Reminds me of Chris Carter with the X-files.

Yvette

I know you can't read the comments right now, but your reaction to where they ended this episode had me screaming! I love it! Can't wait to keep watching your reacts!

Nicole Soza

Oh yea yea..my eyes aren't good enough to see those details😅😅thank you for that

Raymond Walker

She was on the back of the truck with them headed to Paris with them.

Yvette

Thank you 🙏🏿♥️

Raymond Walker

Not one bit 😅😅😅 sorry Yvette

Raymond Walker

🤣🤣Jessica lmao real talk I was editing laughing at that EXACT spot "look look Reading" i be doing that shit too..if you're mouth open reading oh you're invested 🤣🤣..Santiago is having some DIABOLICAL thoughts lol But nah fr PLAY THAT SHIT!!! I'll answer every question

Raymond Walker

I'm Excited to see what you think of the next Episode lmao lol ha 😊

Elle

Before the 12th for sure, that's ny birthday and ill be busy that weekend

Raymond Walker

Tacccoooo, can you give us an estimate of when you think you'll drop episode 5? 😳

Melissa

I know everyone has different interpretation of Arun/Maitre thing, but don't let them affect you. I really want to see your opinion on it once the season finishes

crazykuroneko

oh that’s fascinating! i’ve always been in the camp of being very creeped out by their Arun/Maitre thing going on. The idea that Louis means it one way and Armand takes it another way is really interesting, actually. I hadn’t ever considered that.

Sophie Heflebower

i’m so excited for you to see the next episode, it’s my favorite of the whole show

Sophie Heflebower

Nice analogy! Spot on.

Melissa

Your reaction to the cliffhanger is making me so excited to see your reaction to the next episode

the dragon queen

You have to imagine us watching this show with weekly release getting that cliffhanger. I bet Rolin (the showrunner) was evil laughing when he told the editor to cut it there. He likes making people mad. He is insane like that

crazykuroneko

I'm foaming at the mouth for you to see the next episode, it's gonna knock your socks off

Vince

I agree, from the comments from the actors it really puts it into perspective on how both characters view on how the relantionship progresses and the internal turmoil of both sides really. As always love your insights and interactions.

Valentine

I think it’s both! A misunderstanding in that Armand thinks “Oh this is what Louis wants from me and what will make this relationship work” even thought that’s not what Louis meant. So it’s like Armand cemented the dynamic as a result of that misunderstanding. To me, of course. I totally understand people who see it completely differently. I just can’t see it any other way after the comments from the actors regarding their dynamic.

sierra's reaction corner

“Look. Look. Motherfucker mouth wide open. READING.” “Play it. 👹 Play it.” “I don’t want to talk about the episode! 😤” Keeping my comments limited to the reaction itself from this point, but trust I’m making a list of questions to ask. I need a Q&A episode after the finale. This has been my favorite reaction so far.

Jessica

Do you think is it Armand setting up that dynamic intentionally or is it a misunderstanding of what Louis was trying to do? Why I ask is because just before the "Are you sure about that Arun?" Louis did say "I used to be very good at running things, I'm alittle wet" which is a show of dominance and Armand submits to that by lifting the umbrella. The logical extension would be this is the relantionahip dynamic now he has called me Arun... idk it's fascinating I don't think Louis was mean or manipulative I just can't say that Armand is the one that put that dynamic into place maybe gave a name to it

Valentine

Also Paul and his “little birds”

Samantha

All the details with the plays and the theater and Claudia's role in it is entirely from the show's writers! Anne Rice provided a wonderful guide for the show, but the real strength comes from what the writers here did to make this story completely unique to the original source material. Yes, Armand was Amadeo/Arun! I know you went back and probably understand by now but to recap the story Armand tells: He was born Arun (he's not sure if that was really his name but let's go with it) in India, his parents sold him into slavery where he served in a brothel as a child prostitute until 15 when his maker Marius (we were introduced to this name in S1E2 btw when Daniel was looking at the art Louis and Armand have in their house, they have a painting of Marius') purchased him and renamed his Amadeo. Amadeo served Marius as a human until he was dying of illness at 27 and then was turned. Then Marius was killed and he was renamed Armand and sent to run the coven in Paris which we saw in S2E3. That painting was of him, but was intentionally whitewashed (That's the in-universe excuse, irl it's because that was the closest painting they could find in the Louvre that resembled South Asian actor Assad Zaman lol) Armand probably has one of the most fascinating backstories. I don't agree with what he's doing to Claudia at ALL, but I can understand how, given his past, he could not give less of a fuck about how Claudia feels. I'm SO glad you read that "Are you sure about that, Arun?" scene the right way omg So many people think that was Louis like being mean or manipulative about Armand's past, but that was him doing what he thought Armand wanted, seeing him for the scared fragile little boy inside. Armand's response of "Yes, Maitre" was him setting up their...interesting Dom/sub dynamic. That ending...LOL this show is SICK!

sierra's reaction corner

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Raymond Walker

Hard agree. Having future insights does not help the ick that jumps out. My initial reaction was to think "that's an interesting dynamic I did not see coming" but in rewatch it's not good, bordering on pissing me off.

Aquielle

16:40 “… that wasn’t the last time.” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Jessica

We just love Paramore over here! Also, I love Louis, but I was so tired of him during the stage scene in this episode. All you could do was shrug your shoulders and not speak up for Claudia when she looked you in your eyes for help but you can deny that you are companions with Armand with your full chest in such a hostel environment. (Sir don't you know you have 30 minutes yes yes tthhiiirrrttyyy.) His hubris was on full display here in this episode. Claudia's line delivery on "I FORGOT...love makes you STUPID!" was chefs kiss no notes. It is always so funny how Louis picks and chooses his roles when it comes to Claudia. He is her brother when he doesn't want responsibility for her but her Father when he loses control in his mind. In addition, I'm tired of these men putting their hands on Claudia all in the same way 1st Lestat then Louis now Armand I wanted to leap through the screen, one can argue that Armand did it to save face because he knew Santigo was right there listening/lurking but still keep your hands to yourself. Armand's backstory always gets me, in kind=paid with his body so his maker used him to have a painting recreated using his likeness that doesn't even represent his true self just an object a whitewashed thing. The portrait of himself isn't even portraying him in an authentic way. I love how the show plays around with the power dynamics between Louis and Armand. Although physically Armand is the stronger one, he is clearly fragile even to humans who glance at a photograph of him, and there is a bit of a shift on that bench. Louis calls him "Arun" (the name he had when he was in slavery) and Armand calls Louis "maitre" which is Armand's coven master title.

Valentine

The week I had during live watch was excruciatingly long. I have 1 friend in New Zealand who was watching with me and we are separated by 18 hours so waiting for me to watch the next episode was a master class in patience.

Aquielle

Hurt me to my CORE! I didn't even wanna do the review 🤣🤣

Raymond Walker

I got you Mia🙏🏿

Raymond Walker

What that's awesome!! The broken leg referencing punkass Bruce smh..I didn't even catch that so sad 💔 Oh ok so I forgot that aspect..but gotcha..wow so much information to cover 😅😅 Thank you for this Amanda 🙏🏿♥️

Raymond Walker

No rush, I just find it amusing that you had the exact same reaction. Like buh how can it cut off like that.

Aquielle

I needed that trust me..I was running on FUMES!!😵‍💫😵‍💫

Raymond Walker

Yea she's a great character ♥️

Raymond Walker

My eyes could never 🤣🤣those days are over for me

Raymond Walker

Sort of, if I was an enemy spy and my mother didn't tell me that my sergeant knew I was. He just hasnt told the rest of the platoon that im a traitor because he's taking a liking to my mom, for sure lol..but being found as a spy could lead to my death and my mother's so in this scenario I need my mom to think and relay all information as clearly and transparent as possible so I can make the best choice for myself you what I mean Jackie?

Raymond Walker

Wow!🤔💭💭.....i think you may be right..I personally need to see more of their relationship to put my foot firmly on that though

Raymond Walker

Ben Daniels did such an amazing job with Santiago, he has such charm and his relationship with Claudia seems cheeky and conspiratorial. Let me preface this next statement by saying I'm a huge OG Armand simp, I hate it when Louis pulls out the pimp voice with Armand. It gives me the ick. But Louis is a pimp, he knows how to hold shit down. He is also apparently the Helen of Troy of the vampire world. But looking at Jacob and the way he plays him, I get it lol.

Aquielle

🤣🤣I'm guessing you heard me not wanting to talk about my Claudia theory..right or wrong...I just need to see it for myself (hopefully I'm wrong though) but no clues lol

Raymond Walker

Thank you for this, the writers really did their thing with this. Amazing!

Raymond Walker

🤣🤣🤣🤣ill try and be faster the truth is I've been pre recording some other shows so I was actually pretty busy all week 😅

Raymond Walker

Now you know why we were all so damn pressed. Imagine having to wait a whole week to watch the next episode. It was torture.

Aquielle

The parallels between Claudia’s death in the play and Louis’ brother’s death, falling from the roof, feels so personal to me.

Samantha

The parallels of the play and Claudia’s story are all from the minds of the writers of the show. While Anne Rice’s story in the book sets the general framework for the show, the writers have taken many creative liberties and really improved upon it a lot in my opinion.

Lisa

I erased my whole page I wrote. I can’t wait for future reactions!!!

Jackie Owe

Armand had a master in his Maker and those years was his good life out of many. Like Armand said in the tunnels, why is the most power is the weakest. Doesn't may sense that he couldn't get his coven to behave.

Yvette

When we first met Louis he was a pimp. He just took the dominant role in the relationship and Armand answered as the submissive one.

Yvette

We need to wake up the Emmys. The Bear didn't do 8 PERFECT episodes of TV. This show did that and everyone deserves recognition! Letter campaign!!

Yvette

Louis should told her about Armand when she was telling Louis about Bruce. He let her walk into the lions den.

Yvette

Hey Taco!!! I’m going to probably start commenting several times throughout the watch because I always forget something by the end of the review lol In regards to Louis looking at Claudia in a “well you wanted this” type of way. I mean it is true. At this time Claudia is in her 40s. She chose the coven. He can’t save her from her choice. I mean it’s mean but you’ve been through basic training, I think lol. I think you mentioned the military so I hope I’m not wrong. But it would be like you looking to your mom when your drill Sargent is being mean to you. What can she really do?

Jackie Owe

as you always have the right to do! this show is very interesting because there are so many different ways to look at everything.

Sophie Heflebower

Hmmmmm🤔💭💭. That may be a moment I have to use my right to change my opinion at any time on

Raymond Walker

I feel the same. I do not like the whole dom/sub thing they got going there and Louis pulling on Armand’s trauma. Holding the umbrella for DreamStat, lowers it as submissive/then tells Armand “I’m a little wet” to make him bring the umbrella up.

Amanda Hill

Saaaaaame! That moment has probably the widest spectrum of responses in the fandom that I've ever seen. There are people who think it's a heartfelt and romantic thing for Louis to address him by his birth name, and there's people who see it as intensely manipulative and gross. This show has sooooo much depth and intricacy that people can get really different things out of it depending on their own perspective and what they bring to the table! I wish I didn't cause so much arguing and conflict in the fandom, because I think that's one of the best things about this show.

Amanda Winstead

Your comment about "you're going into the cage and you're staying there" when Armand and Claudia were arguing - do you remember when Lestat confronted her on the train and said "back in your cage" to the dog, but also to Claudia? And the lack of awards perpetually chaps my ass! Everything in the show is so masterfully crafted, all the way down. I know it's a tall order for a genre show to compete with some of the better known prestige dramas for the top categories, but it kills me that they aren't getting their flowers for even the writing, music, or costuming. And finally, NO SPOILERS, but you're right: 5 *is* gonna be crazy 🤯🤯🤯 I'm going to be gnawing on my arm until you post it, Taco!

Amanda Winstead

Madeleine- I think the same about her! I love that she represents this freedom away from the coven, and sees Claudia for who she really is. It's lovely.

Sophie Heflebower

Armand/Louis - This is just my opinion, but I actually really hate the moment where Louis calls Armand "Arun". For me, calling Armand the name he had when he was a child s*x slave does not sit right with me at all. And Armand calling him "Maitre" (Master) back? It skeeves me out real bad. I'm not trying to compare Louis to Marius at all, I just think it's gross to call back to it like that. Can't be good for Armand's psyche. Maybe I'm being overly sensitive about it. Your interpretation is sweet.

Sophie Heflebower

You might want to watch the next 4 in one sitting. 😂😂😂

Yvette

*Spoiler Free* Claudia - The theater/play stuff with Claudia is all the show's writers! Claudia's not involved at all in the books.

Sophie Heflebower

If you ever go back - the birds have been a motif in the show from episode one - with Paul at the mercy of the bird, jumping all the roof, falling to the ground, just like claudia does in the play.

In the book, Claudia did not fck with the theater or the theater vamps AT ALL. Within half an hour, she was not with it. She was immediately suspicious and trying to tell Louis they were not to be trusted. And Louis wasn't a photographer in the book. He was into museums. This version of the theatre des vampires is a pure show invention. The theater plays book are much darker and not as whimsical as the show.

Ray do you remember the statute of the lady?

Yvette

Ray, we are having fun watching you work this out. 😂 Very entertaining.

The Baby Lulu stuff is not Anne Rice. That's all from Rolin Jones and the composer Daniel Hart.

The way this coven HATES Louis 😂 Like the play is definitely a jab at him, and having his daughter play the character that dies is even more twisted. The birds and dying from a great height.. Poor paul man. Just parading Louis trauma for entertainment. Btw you are so right about ppl coddling Louis 😂 You been the most accurate on reading his character imo

SPOILER FREE! Paramore!! Yes, I’m from the same place as them (just south of Nashville). Love them. The play is CRAZY. The themes are nuts, you caught the tie-ins so well. Her trapped, her LEG getting broken (Bruce?!), the birds again, Louis watching…her jumping out a window to her death at the end (callback to Paul). “Little birdie Lou is caught in a trap!” The info about the fire Daniel has is from the info Raglan put on his computer. The first time I heard “doesn’t sound like him”, I wanted to jump through the screen. My good man Louis, STAND UP.
