I knew you would enjoy TaeTae's music and vibe (v of bts). You should try Namjoon's (RM of bts) mixtapes and his solo release. He tried to be classically rapper badass on his 1st mixtape, but really developed his own vibe in his other solo projects. You would ADORE his lyrics. He is a poet and every word and phrase have double and triple meanings. word play is his jam. I really like when you play music before a reaction! I grew up from aged 9 - 48 in Pensacola, Fl. Jay, FL is north of us and it IS a sundown town. Thankfully, I was able to move to Colorado in 2019.

His friend told him when he travels in the South, he carries his identification in a lanyard around his neck so that he doesn't have to reach for it and risk the potential outcomes of that simple movement. I always thought they were crazy for that...a decade later I c ths🤣 They're happy tho🤷🏾♀️ The sheriff stop always makes me thnk of the story Unc Bootsy Collins & my funk pappy George Clinton tell. And I saw thm tell it separately yrs apart. George flew n some Midwest state & whn they were driving frm the airport back to Bootsys sis house the trooper stopped thm & gav thm the same time condition at dusk & followed thm. BUT it was a 45min drive & they had like 12mins. They said a light flashed n the sky but they thought nuthn of it like it was a plane. They made it to his sis house...but only 7mins had passed🤯👽 Now psychedelics r one thng...to hav the same trip & not b high is another💯👀

The stories are categorized as 'cosmic horror' and are known for bizarre monsters or 'dark gods' from 'the deeps' (the emptiness between the stars or sometimes the bottom of the ocean... frequently the monsters have tentacles). This story blends cosmic horror with the real life horror of racism. There's no way around it, Lovecraft was openly racist. He was also crazy and a miserable person who was terrified of everything both real and imagined. He was unquestionably messed up and horrid.

2024-09-15 19:37:44 +0000 UTCTo your story at the beginning: when I drive from AL or GA to NC I am always paranoid about stopping in places because I worry I’ll end up in a sundown town and be completely clueless because it’s happened to me before. After I moved to where I live now in NC I was explaining to my coworkers how I went to a restaurant in another town over and was literally ignored for 30 whole minutes after being seated, and they looked at me with that “bless your heart” expression and told me about it’s history of being a sundown town back in the day and even though it’s “better” it still has that feel to it. And where were you stationed when you were in Japan?!?

Especially because I had no idea what I was getting myself into 😂😂 I was like, "Oh FoxTaco reacted, I have to see" and I did love all your in-depth commentary and your reactions but it has once again confirmed to me that I'm just not the person for Lovecraftian horror. Really not my thing. But that will most certainly not stop me from watching the next episode when you react to it, so cheers for that I guess 🌮🌮🌮

For example, Lovecraft, the author referenced in the title, was famously incredibly racist, yet I’m sure his stories resonated with many black people. The series explores that tension in a really interesting way!
