IWV EP 4 ( WE NEED TO TALK)

Im about to upload my reaction but gang, I am not feeling great about my conclusion. I started blaming characters pointing fingers. Not giving characters benefit of the doubt that probably deserve some maybe. Look gang. They involved that innocent child in their BS and i went at them maybe a little too hard hahaha.

I don't know. What were your thoughts after your first viewing of episode four? Were you torn? did you need to reflect a bit? Let me know peeps, because your boy is still hurt, mad, confused , and not even feeling my own conclusion at some parts im 50/50 literally torn . Im stressed Claudia that poor girl smh.

Shows amazing first time I've felt I may need to walk somethings back.

Comments

She sure took to killing readily for an innocent! 😂 I'm laughing but also serious in a way? At age 14 I expected her to have some reticence or at least a little remorse -- at first? But she seems pretty okay with it! 😂

ArcAngel

She also is the only one who seems to show no reverence at all for human life...and zero remorse. I wanna say "but she is young"... but she is 14. I kinda expected some level of reluctance to kill from a 14 year old?

ArcAngel

You realize other people already blatantly said this? And it's already made obvious in the dialogue? And since episode 1 FoxTaco was already questioning Louis reliability? And the writers made a whole bit out of it with Daniel and Louis talking about the song Lestat "wrote"? At this point everyone already knows ...this little comment was meant to be fun and ironic because it's already obvious. Hence the goofy phrasing.

ArcAngel

Dude. Let him watch the show.

Jessie

honestly, good shows will leave you thinking. but great shows will have you tossing and turning in bed, and staring at the walls. glad to be suffering with you all

PickleBaron

Snubbed asf..like who's acting like this NO ONE. I have a few theories as too why but that's a whole other conversation

Raymond Walker

You are absolutely correct. Thank you Melissa 😊

Raymond Walker

🤣🤣🤣FAAACTS..lol

Raymond Walker

Remember they are monsters with human faces. 😂😂😂. Even though Louis is trying to hold on to his morality its really gone. It was barely there to begin with he was literally a pimp.

Mari Thomas

I put most of the blame on Lestat for the same reason though. He did know better to make a child for the indulgence of another is way worse to me because you willing took her life away with full knowledge

Valentine

Nooooooo😭😭😭😭😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Raymond Walker

I put the most blame on Louis. Lestat knew it was wrong, but he indulged Louis. They both did this for their own selfish reasons, Louis, to try to hold on to his human self and Lestat, to keep Louis from leaving him. Claudia is the one who pays for their selfishness.

Yvette

sorry to say this but the next episode, ep 5 is the roughest one in the show. prepare yourself for a bit more internal conflict.

PickleBaron

She has Lestat's killing instincts. He is very proud of her. Louis is too, that is why he took her to meet his family. I think Louis was saying to them, I don't need you guys anymore, I have my own family now.

Yvette

you hit it right on the head!

Raymond Walker

I'm so late to this and I'm about to watch the reaction now, but yeah...this show will have you conflicted and angry and torn on EVERY CHARACTER. NONE of them are perfect or even "good". Claudia is an innocent who doesn't deserve being tied up in these crazy vampire's lives. Louis is selfish for wanting to turn her, Lestat is wrong for doing it, they both SUCK for using her as a crutch to improve their relationship, no matter how genuine any of their affections for her are. Louis and Lestat are 2 mentally ill and struggling men who needed to work on themselves before even being vampires, being in a relationship together and damn sure before adopting a child.

sierra's reaction corner

She is 14 in the show.

Yvette

Yes!

Yvette

Lestat cannot refuse Louis. He loves Louis.

Yvette

Sorry was typing on my phone.

Yvette

They almost got an ugly cry out of me 🤣🤣😭😭...aaawww thank you Mari♥️..the only thing is sometimes..you hear what you day as the reactor and you're like ooohhh😬😬😬..I got some hate in my heart with this one..but 🤷🏿‍♂️ o well..I'm human lol..thank you for always supporting ☺️

Raymond Walker

i kept the raw one, but i had to sleep on it..thats crazy to even say the show has me that conflicted smh ugh

Raymond Walker

yea i havent felt this torn about characters in a loooong while

Raymond Walker

I told you that that you would love, hate and that your feelings would be all over the place for each of these characters. All the writers wrote them that way.

Yvette

Book readers knew this was coming. She was made older in the show.

Yvette

It's absolutely horrible, what Claudia had deal with. She is such an incredible character and one that I think many people can easily connect with. A lot of us were born solely as bandaids for shitty marriages. To give our awful parents lives "meaning" only to be ignored, used, emotionally abandoned or outright abused. I haven't watched your reaction yet but based on your comments I think your current assessment is fair. As the show goes on, Claudia grows strength and determination that most of us "bandaid" kids could only dream of. I've read the books and have a pretty nuanced perspective of vampires in general so believe me when I tell you, this show will make you question your own assessments of everything

J oz

1000% agreed!🙏🏿

Raymond Walker

This is YOUR journey, and you get to have whatever reactions it inspires within you. Yes, it will spark discussion. Perhaps, you may reconsider or reevaluate as you get further into the series. Either way, that's the whole point of it all, isn't it? I can't wait for your post. ;)

Melissa

Honey just wait til season 2. This show have you in all the feels and emotions. That’s why it’s so good and the acting top tier, Emmy worthy. They getting snubbed with these awards.

Partrice

They deserve to be dragged! Both Louis and Lestat are selfish bastards. I’d love to hear your raw reaction, but I get it if you’re reluctant to post something you don’t feel like you can stand behind.

Valaree

Claudia is the only innocent in this show so far, as to how she was turned and as to her age and hormonal impulsiveness truly preventing her from necessary discernment regarding her attitude to killing beyond just the need to feed and survive. She is a complex character, but one of my favorite.

Dee

Its way too early in the game for conclusions, but yea, one of the great things about the way they did the series this time is that they dont sugar coat a damned thing. They let them be disgusting, and selfish and crappy. It took me a minute to get used to this rendition but its valid. It made me download the book for another listen. 😆

Mari Thomas

Also, i had the benefit of watching the movie and having read some of the books. So i already knew about Claudia and Im conflicted every 👏time👏 i see👏 that👏 part.

Mari Thomas

You feel how you feel. 🤣🤣🤣. That show is an R. I. D. E !! And they take you down every street, round every corner an through every alley of emotion 😂😂. I enjoy your reactions because you're you and your reacts are so real. I had all the emotions when i watched that series. 😂😂😂 im down for whatever it is.. Hell, you can even ugly cry 🥰 I know i did.

Mari Thomas

Just keep in mind regarding the portrayal of Lestat... frequently there may be problems with...I don't wanna say it...it rhymes with 'fun deniable aerator."

ArcAngel

I think the beauty of this story is that every single character is extremely flawed (maybe not so much with Claudia). It's written so well that it can provoke such strong reactions from us. Don't be too hard on yourself for your feelings, which are completely valid and understandable in this situation.

Holly Robertson

Right!!! Like ugh smh....I'm RE-PISSED OFF!! Lol..dummies..it's 2am here and I'm still shaking my damn head 💔

Raymond Walker

I agree with everything you just said and tbh Louis should have taken her to a hospital at least idk why he thought of turning her first before getting help from doctors 😭 and yes Lestat also gives the vibes of “see what happens” like he’s waiting on something to happen so he could shove it on Louis’ face in order for him to prove a point. Claudia is def one of my favorite characters, actually my second favorite character and I cannot wait to hear your thoughts on her as the show continues.

RÆY

1000% facts, I was REALLY hard on Louis 🫤..and I still feel the same a bit, using Claudia as your redemption to feel better about your actions and have something to pour into is just awful. He has a pattern of needing outlets to distract him from his own tribulations, pimping women, money, but now you're going to turn this girl smh It doesn't sit right with me to give him the excuse of she was dying...he made her an outlet like Daniel said a bandaid And lestat even though he may have loved her too seems to be waiting for an opportunity to show louis" see what happens " They made her a rope for them to play morality tug of war with neither one if them putting her priorities first...selfishness all around..while Claudia is left to br confused with no true guidance on her new life, body or experiences just two dysfunctional vampires 💔 one who wants her to be his guiding light his chance at a fictional redemption while they suck on fish..and the other who wants to rip bodies apart with her and use her as validation to throw in his parters face that you can't be human anymore They both get a F- this episode..smh dumbassess

Raymond Walker

Claudia’s turning was hard because it feels like she’s being used to mend a broken relationship, Louis asking Lestat to turn her because he feels guilty and doesn’t want her to die (or else it’s his fault) which I understand where he’s coming from tbh but now poor Claudia will be stuck in that body forever 😭 and Lestat… yeah… he did cross a line here, I don’t know if you went back to the dinner table scene from Episode 1 when Lestat talks about his family he mentions “beatings and starvation” when referring to his father and brothers so I am assuming that might have been all he knew growing up, does not excuse his actions at all though and just proves that vampire is not equipped for parenting and neither is Louis lowkey

RÆY

Yea smh..it was tough Lestat is a butt, louis was being a clueless butt. Both of them dragging that girl into their world was tragic as fuck. Ill have to redo my conclusion as I don't really stand by half of it but ill keep it up for you all and we can discuss and have some dialogue about it

Raymond Walker

I remember just feeling very disgusted with Lestat. I know "tough love" is a thing, and I'm not always opposed to it. But I just felt like he crossed the line into cruelty for his own amusement. I just had to keep reminding myself that this is only being told from Louis' point of view, and we don't know what Lestat has been through in his long life. Obviously that doesn't excuse his actions, but it could explain some of them. I'd love to hear a discussion between you and Frank on this.
