Nation: Republic of Altis

Next on the list is the Republic of Altis, or Altis for short. This is the kingdom which the whole concept of the game stemmed from.

The Republic of Altis, Mirroring ancient Athens. Altis’s staple is its all-around resources and maximization of slave trading. Altis rose from the ashes of the Arriente Empire as it receeded its territories. As Altis expanded they came into conflict with the Magi Kingdom over the East Plains region. Ultimately a peace treaty with the Magi was signed ceding the area to them. In the end the treaty actually benefited the Republic as the Magi Kingdom now serves as a bulwark against the Dune Snakes. The nation’s population today roughly sits about 118,000 people.

The Capital City of Altis stands upon a mighty cliff of a mesa plateau with the other side gently forming a ramp. Its location in the Black Gold Desert gives it regular access to Oil which is the vital blood of Altis’s massive fleet of vehicles. Altis the city is absolutely massive and boasts closing on 100,000 people living on the cliff and ramp. The city is tiered with the senate building and military quarters at the top of the cliff. Then is the Nobility walled off from the Middle class which is walled off from the rest of the city. At the bottom of the ramp is the final wall which isolates the city upon the geological defense. It was also the first city in the wastes to have a university. The big trade commodity of the city is its supply of slaves. Its central location gives it access to slaves from throughout the wastes and has caused the city to become extremely wealthy.

Their military is mainly mobile with heavy reliance on vehicles and the use of scavenged guns. A semi-mix between mad max and fallout NCR.

The currency of Altis is the Mark. The Mark is a square coin with the outer ring made of iron and the inner of gold. Each coin is highly decorated by the craftsmen at Riverstead and sent to Altis mint for approval.
