I just rewatched this video! I can’t help but feel the parents are negligent to a certain degree.

I just joined your Patreon, I wanted to support the excellent work that you do. I really like when you take us to see the locations. Very informative!

So I always thought it snowed directly after he went missing, the absence of any footprints is unexplainable unless he remained in the same spot. IMO an 8 year old wouldn't stay in the same spot after 1 night. If he hid there and thought it was a game I can assure you by nightfall when it got quiet and cold he didn't want to be there anymore. Snowmobiling is one of my hobbies and even as an adult in full gear, when you stop off the trail in the woods and its just you in the cold and the moonlight, even though you know you can just start the sled and ride away, it still can be intensely eerie.

10:20 I mean the trees make it look like its an 70+ degree incline; can't be much steeper than that

We are on the same page. I feel like there is a bit more to this story.

I question foul play. Do we know for certain he was with them? Why would you take a kid to a spot like this knowing his history?

I refer back to your video about people disappearing without a trace. The man who fell down the abandoned well always comes back to me. There are surely similar, even naturally-made voids in many places. A child falling into a small cave and being critically injured would likely never be found. Even decomposition, and its attendant tell-tale smell would’ve been slowed by the weather. By the time the odor might’ve alerted searchers to the body, the search was long over. The more time I spend in remote places, the less mystery attaches to these sorts of events. A fall into a place that is difficult to reach, such as a steep valley, is all it takes to produce an unexplained disappearance. Thanks for the video.

Great job, thanks! the father knew his son's history with taking off and hiding, yet took him to Crater Lake, and allowed him to run away from the car, merely calling him back? Suspicious.
