Hello Patrons :)

Over the past few weeks and months you’ve made quite a number of requests for new features and tweaks that you’d like to see at brickhawk.com - and some of these are ready to see the light of day. 

Here’s what has just been released, and available right now:

Lower THEMEHAWK price change threshold

A number of you have asked for a lower price change threshold on THEMEHAWKS (in particular for the Creator Expert theme!) - so “20% or more” has been added:

A word of caution though! The minimum was originally set at 30% to ensure a “20% of our entire range of LEGO” sale didn’t trigger an avalanche of emails if (for example) you’d set a 20% THEMEHAWK on the “City” theme. However when it comes to themes like Creator Expert, Ideas and other hard-to-find or discounts-are-small-and rare themes, 20% would pose less of an avalanche risk, and also enable you to snag that highly desired set! For your Inbox’s sake, please be careful with the themes you apply the 20% to!

Set number and name in email subjects

By default, the email subject in Hawk Alerts only differs between Hawk types, e.g. “Hawk Alert”, “SUPERHAWK Alert” and “THEMEHAWK Alert”. There is now an option on the Account page that you can enable which will add the LEGO set number and set name into the email subject:

A number of you asked for this feature to help with email rules, and also to ungroup Hawk Alert emails in Gmail. You can toggle this option at any time, so feel free to try it out and see if it works for you!

More Insights

BrickHawk Insights has been well received, and there have been a number of requests for additional insights to be included. Two of these have made it into this release.

The first one is pretty straightforward - the theme name for the set is now included.

The second is also straightforward enough, but super insightful (making it an easy choice to prioritise for this release!). Insights has always had “BrickHawk low”, which was the lowest price for a set that BrickHawk had ever seen. This has been renamed to “BrickHawk lowest ever”, and an additional insight - “BrickHawk lowest now” has been added. The new insight shows the price and retailer name for the lowest price currently offered by a retailer. 

So now when you are evaluating a Hawk Alert that has just come in, not only can you see the absolute lowest a set has ever been (which may have been 2 years ago!), you can also see how the offer compares to what other retailers are currently offering now.

Reminder: BrickHawk Insights is available exclusively to Middle Hawk and Big Hawk patrons.

Out of Stock detection

A lot of effort continues to go into Out of Stock detection for different retailers. This is being prioritised as it makes for a much better BrickHawk experience when you can hide and/or disable Hawk Alerts for Out of Stock sets.

Over the last few weeks some of the smaller retailers have had Out of Stock detection added, whilst other retailers have had Out of Stock detection improved.
