Goodbye Offer: [EMPTY], Hello more PARTHAWKS!
Added 2020-04-18 12:38:29 +0000 UTCHello Patrons :)
The results from last week's poll are in, and there's a clear winner - you want offer alerts "Only when a new offer is detected, or an existing offer is changed (i.e. ignore '[EMPTY]' offers)".
BrickHawk has just been updated to reflect this , meaning you should no longer see emails with Offer: [EMPTY]!
Whilst the majority wanted this, there were a couple of votes for the other options. These options could be incorporated as well whilst still leaving the default behaviour to ignore [EMPTY] offers, so stay tuned for future developments to support the other options as well.
PARTHAWK! limit increases
PARTHAWKS have been in beta for a little while now, and whilst there was one little hiccup, for the most part they are working well.
Given this stability, the limits have been increased three-fold for Little Hawks and Middle Hawks, and a-bit-more-than-four-fold for Big Hawks. The new limits are:

As always, please feel free to comment below with your feedback or ideas, or email info@brickhawk.com
Thanks so much for your support :)
Cheers
BH.

Hi Alaskans - and welcome! This change has probably only halved the number of alerts you were receiving - the [EMPTY] offer ones. There has been an increase in offer alerts over the last two weeks from the eBay stores, as eBay seem to only display their coupon offers some of time, and sometimes when BrickHawk looks at the LEGO sets at each store, the coupon is there, and other times it is not. This results in the "flappy" behaviour you are seeing - whenever the coupon comes back, you get an alert. As this change (removing [EMPTY] offer alerts) has only partly solved the eBay issue, offer detection (i.e. for new/changed coupons) for the eBay stores has been disabled. This should stop them coming through for now, until a better solution is found. Disabling offer alerts by retailer is also planned, and perhaps will include the ability for disabling all alerts from a retailer. This would mean you can ignore retailers that are well over RRP, or perhaps some that you would never buy from, regardless of how good the price. Thanks, BH :)

I am a new user and Patreon supporter to BrickHawk so apologies if this has been brought up before. But I was wondering if it would be possible to block alerts for certain retailers? For example, the vast majority of email alerts I am receiving are for sets that are being sold by Tates Toyworld on eBay. The issue is that all but one of the sets they have in stock at the moment is being sold (a lot well) above RRP. So, even with the current eBay offer of "Extra $5 off with coupon" I would be better off buying the sets direct from the Lego Shop... or just about anywhere else. Of the 22 Hawk Alerts I received over the last 2 days , 17 of them were from Tates. Not one of them (with the current $5 off) would have brought the price below RRP. Yet I still receive email alerts for them. I think adding a "disable alerts from retailer" toggle on the Retailers page could be useful for some people (but maybe thats just me!) Thanks for all your hard work on the site. I am super glad that I found it! :D
