They Took it Up a Notch
Much like a real game night, this movie was a very enjoyable couple hours that left you feeling slightly awkward at what had just occurred. Jason Bateman was memorable as always and the plot of “brother one-upmanship” kept the action going, but the most entertaining aspect of the movie was that the entire vibe felt like the audience was part of the murder mystery game happening in the movie. I was constantly guessing who the villain was and who was playing which side. This made me think of the original Clue from 1985 (although, not as classically executed). The constant barrage of red herrings could have been exhausting, but they were delivered so playfully that the end product was funny and engaging. I am looking forward to future viewings when I can find little hints of future reveals.
