Added 2023-12-25 12:09:03 +0000 UTCGoing over all the replays from the swiss of my recent challenge, mostly quick thoughts as these are a lot of matches. Let me know if this format is useful and any other feedback you may have!

absolutely, the matchup over burn will probably not be bad regardless of how you construct your deck. Your manabase being painless is a huge boon, and especially patchwork openers are nearly unbeatable for them. When it comes to damage calculation, there are some small heuristics like a hangarback being worth its number of counters+1*scales when sacrificed to a ravager, but these things quickly grow more complex when additional factors come into play. So my best recommendation is to just practice the deck! Watching gameplay also helps, trying to look for kills as often as possible, and you'll learn quickly what type of boardstate can lead to possible win. -Stan

Do you have any advice on shortcuts for quickly calculating the order of damage on the table in complex situations or is it just takes practice? And another question - without Shadowspear, does Scales still have an advantage over Burn? What's the strategy - to be faster? The opponent in the video clearly kept a very poor hand, and without the Shadowspear, the match looks daunting :D
