Dear Patrons,
I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share some updates about my upcoming projects and explain why there will be a little gap in my regular posting. I'm currently out shooting several new videos, and I'm taking my channel in a few exciting directions.
🌍 Western Companies in Russia: The Economic Story
Firstly, I'm working on a video about Western companies that are now under Russian ownership. There's been a lot of content about the new McDonald's (now 'Tasty and that's it'), mostly focusing on the food. However, I believe there's a bigger story here about the economy, not just burgers. I'm striving to gain access to the new management of former Western companies like Starbucks, Carlsberg, Danone in Russia. I want to explore whether a Western business can succeed in Russia after severing ties with its parent company.
📸 Exclusive Insights
I've already interviewed Anton Pinsky, the new owner of the Russian branch of Starbucks (see the attached picture). He shared fascinating details about the acquisition, the pressure from Starbucks, and more. I promise this is going to be an eye-opening episode.
Next, I'm heading to another rural community to talk with locals and expats about the impact of the war and sanctions. These stories are crucial in understanding the broader picture.
I'm also planning a trip back to my hometown for the holidays to create a special video about the life of Russian seniors and how they manage on their pensions. This idea sparked after filming an episode in Pereslavl with Eric (shoutout to Eric, who's also a patron here!). With comments about foreigners enjoying life in Russia due to Western incomes, I want to delve into what life is really like for retirees here. I'll be looking at whether an average government pension of $250-350 is enough for a decent life in Russia. I've got something special planned for this episode.
📹 In the Meantime: Short Videos
In the meantime, I'll be posting short videos to keep you all updated. Your support means the world to me, and I can't wait to share these new projects with you.
Thank you for your continued support and for being part of this journey.
Warm regards,
Konstantin
