"How free and unconstrained myself while creating something".

One of my dear Patron asked me this question this morning and I think it is relevant enough to share it with you as well as my answer. I hope you'll find this helpful. Here it is:
"Artur Valverde
Amazing! Not only the process and the final piece is great but how free and unconstrained you are while creating. Certainly that's the thing I want to learn. Thanks!"
And here is my answer:
"I’m sorry but there’s either no explanations nor any ways to learn how « free and unconstrained I could be while creating » from me. One day, my friend Finnian McMannus asked me almost the same question and my answer was something like this: I just have to watch at my daily job. Although it’s the greatest job of all in my eyes, we are directed. Please, don't misunderstand me, I'm totally fine with this as it is an essential part of the creative process of a project. So this why I need to do all of those « personal » works on my free time with no reason and no purpose except re-establishing a sort of balance. I mean, I have a lot of things I want to create but there is no place for them in my daily tasks so I just make them for myself, just because I need it. Eventually, I told Finnian to just « do » things. Do what ever you want or need. Justifications of these things will come after. Some of them will work. If not, jump onto another one and so on until you find something you like or something you feel confortable with. This is pretty much what Kim Jung Gi usually do in some ways. At the end of the day you’ll find that your professional and your personal works will fuel each other and push you to go further and further.
Conclusion: just do it (as Nike says). Don't struggle to much with this kind of questions. They will let you stuck somewhere more than anything. You are already free to do whatever you want. So, go tiger.
That’s all I can tell about this. I heard other explanations from other fellow artists but I usually don't recognize myself in their opinion about this. It is more like an instinct for me and my personal work helps me to develop it more and more. I hope it will help you to free yourself in front of the white sheet".
Thank you all for being my Patron and have a good one! Next session will be about photobashing an environment for the creation of the HK Urbex book cover.
Please, stay tuned!
Best,
Nivanh.
