Some old celeb woman they interviewed before the fight said “you know they always say, speed is the last thing to go” and the commentators just nodded along like twats. Edit: just heard you mention that, but I remembered it as speed. Whatever she said it was a clanger. Edit2: I’ve gone back and checked: “power goes first” … 🫢

The prospect of not knowing quite what Tyson will show up meaning it’s a gimmick fight 2. Not really many people in the history of boxing that have been a bigger star than Tyson, so no biggie we’re not producing anyone as big nowadays, hardly any sporting figure bar Messi/Ronaldo/maybe Lebron is active today and as well known as Mike Tyson. But it IS a shame that it would’ve got a lot of eyes on it that then walked away disappointed. That’s a bummer for the sport.

2024-11-17 16:42:44 +0000 UTCA bit depressing that 58 year old Mike Tyson fighting creates more buzz than all the saudi money events combined. Really shows boxings current status in the culture and that it just cant produce sport transcendent super stars anymore.
