My reading now is Amanda Podany’s “Brotherhood of kings” and “Weavers, Scribes and Kings” as well as the recently released “Oxford History of the Ancient Near East”. Vols 1,2. Vol one is prehistory to the fall of the Akkadian empire, and 2 os ur3 to the fall of Babylon. (Also the same periods in Egypt, but Egypt is so last millennium)
