LP: Final Fantasy XI

Final Fantasy XI is a game I spent a lot of time with in my middle years in college when it first launched, but haven't touched in close to 15. So it's a journey through faded memory and nostalgia to see where this venerable hulk is now, what remains of what was, and how that lines up with what I remember.
In this episode we spend a lot of time going through Square's portal service "PlayOnline" which was largely disregard at the time and considered just an impediment to launching Final Fantasy. But I loved it then and even though it's empty now, I found that it's still wonderful and charming in ways the current web has perhaps wrongly abandoned.
Anyway come join me, friends, as we explore the wild world of Vana'diel with ANTIFAROSE (yes that's the character name we ended up with, it's explained in the episode).

Watching this brought back really intense memories of that user interface, the music, the whole experience. Today's games just don't have anything like it.
