Looking forward to custom signup options

The release of configurable signup options, while a nice thing to have, was really only done to pave the way for custom role signups.

Next steps for me are to add a way for Premium servers to define their own custom signup options. This will be interesting, as it’ll be the first time that we have limited a certain functionality based on being a Patron. Interesting technically, but also interesting to see how the first pay walled feature is received.

I’m hopeful that users will be understanding and see that countless hours I put into Apollo, and recognize that ultimately the project needs a source of income to keep going (for reference, hosting costs are around $350 US / year, and this is only going up).

Inevitably not everyone will be happy, but that’s life! I’m also hoping that the introduction of the Tank, Healer, and Damage signup options, available for free to all users, will help sweeten the deal a bit though.

I’ve been careful to lay the correct ground work up to this point. All the pieces are in place to execute; we really just need a user facing interface!
