The Showdown 

Synopsis

Sarah stands face-to-face with something that shouldn't be possible in this world - another player character. 

Wearing the Zora Mask - the one required to defeat the boss she previously fled from - this stranger expresses his disappointment that despite gathering up all of the masks ahead of Sarah to prevent her from progressing, he hadn't anticipated that other inhabitants in the game world would actually try and help her succeed. 

Excited at the prospect of a challenge, he dons the final mask available in the original game and the most powerful one of them all - the Fierce Deity Mask. In no uncertain terms is this player meaning to end Sarah once and for all.

As the transformation takes hold, the mysterious player is turned into the avatar of strongest foe Sarah has faced yet. Beckoning her to return something to him, the player approaches her and calls out to The Father to transport them into a different world to fight - ensuring that this time she will have no help from her allies.

The Father - having sufficiently gained enough influence over the world by this point - manages to transport the two players into an entirely separate world from Majora's Mask. After exchanging a few words, Sarah has no choice but to engage the mysterious figure in combat as he is revealed to be none other than Jadusable - the protagonist of the original story of 2010. 

Throughout the fight, Jadusable seems to be toying with Sarah - going so far as to taunt her and joke that even unruly inhabitants that he's had to dispatch before put up a better fight. Sarah lands several hits on the corrupted warrior, but with every hit he takes he returns reinvigorated. Without a way for Rosa, Circle, or even The Owl to reach her - she's truly on her own in this world. 

Beating her down over the course of the fight, in a shocking twist Jadusable delivers a killing blow to Sarah, causing her collapse to the ground. The video fades out, glitches, and a strange message is left at the end leading to a bizarre website.

You'll notice that two of the names mentioned in the fight with Jadusable references two patrons that have achieved the Neologist tier or higher. During Jadusable's fight with Sarah, it's implied that they must have "stepped out of line" before for him to fight them - but to what extent remains ambiguous.

The Reaction videos are coming, albeit out of order. Working on this update and making the Eternity Project website occupied all of my time last week so there's a bit of a delay. I sound like a broken record at this point, but good news - the reaction video to The Showdown will go live for all Patrons ten minutes after this post. Afterwards, it will be available to the public a day later. The Dying World and The Predecessor reaction videos will follow this week.

NEW PLAYERS

This past video saw our biggest premiere yet (seriously, again) and welcomed a lot of new players into the story. For any first-timers, welcome! This story has been ongoing since March of this year and is a continuation of the original BEN Drowned story creepypasta. Since March,  it has been told through a variety of different mediums - hidden text  logs, encrypted websites, and found footage - with the players  themselves interacting with the story and voting on the direction it  takes (what character to talk to, which place to visit, what items to  take with you, etc). This is typically referred to as a transmedia narrative - a story told through multiple mediums of entertainment - or an ARG.  

Because of this, it can sometimes be a little overwhelming for new players to get "caught up". So there are a few ways  you can simplify this process and get only the necessary information to  be up to date with current events. A lot of players here have a passion  for the haunted videogame cartridge story-line, so we'll focus on that.  

Here are two easy options:  

1. You can start from the Methods of Revolution [Day 21] update and use the Next Chapter/Previous Chapter  links at the bottom of each Patreon update page to navigate in getting  caught up. Each update page has a link to a Youtube video to watch and a  description of the events that occurred. You will be missing some  backstory on what happened in March-May in the hotel phase of the story,  but if your primary concern is just continuing the BEN Drowned  story-line you can start from here. All you need to know is that a girl  wakes up in a mysterious hotel and is given the original haunted  Majora's Mask cartridge to play as an "experiment" by a mysterious man named Abel. Here is the same playlist of videos on Youtube. 

2. Finally, if you want to go at your own pace, there is a comprehensive wiki that  chronicles everything from 2010 to 2020 about the story, with in depth  articles on specific characters, videos, clues, and even old cached websites (that were used as 'online scavenger hunts' to find more  information during current arcs).
