Great idea from Harvey, to remove the 1 on a spare dial, shave off some length and re-attach it…(ok, so I made a mess of the dial but it was worth it!). We are asking for the 1’s to be 4.90mm in length…the 2’s are roughly 5.03mm in length and this seems to counter the optical illusion caused by the curve at the top of the 2.

Yes, that looks a lot better, but obviously in production that reduction would be shared/taken off both the top and bottom off the indices

I think it does look better but I think do think you’ve taken a touch too much off. Maybe 0.05?mm to my eyes at least. 🤔
