Notes: Cuties Review & Mr. Girl Talk

Here are the notes I used while streaming! I removed a bunch of the unused points I had for the Mr. Girl conversation because they may be used for future discussions with him. This VOD and a separate video of the Cuties discussion specifically, will be coming down to the pipe to Patreon as exclusives.

Story

I think the conversation went worse then I had expected but not by a lot. I did expect that we would have disagreements and that it may be tricky to get to the end of them. I also expected that we would end those points by getting to the bottom of fundamental differences in how he and I feel or engage with the world. The plan was that at the end of those argumentative lines, it would be left in the audiences' hands whether or not they felt they aligned more with him or myself.

What I did not expect to happen, was him to be so concerned with optical decisions or softer language on my part. I didn't expect him to be so upset by me asserting differences in our beliefs- in this space it's pretty normal to confront these differences and be okay with them. Me having a difference in beliefs or experience shouldn't immediately mean that his experience is bad or wrong or evil. He seemed to take it that way and any attempt to highlight disagreements triggered some less than fun moments. Furthermore, my offhanded remarks about the Cuties watch party and other things costed me a lot more than I would have ever guessed. Again, any perceived attempt at differentiating the two of us, costed me a ton. I'll have to watch this back to clarify my ideas on it more.

I'm thinking of reviewing the conversation back off-stream and doing it on Discord as a Patreon/Subscriber exclusive. If that's something you all are interested in, lmk!
