Tyson Fury vs. Dillian Whyte Preview, Breakdown & Prediction
Added 2022-04-20 18:47:59 +0000 UTCIt's a big one this week and after I skirted around Spence vs. Ugas and proclaimed this coming weeks episode would be entirely focused on boxing (a post-mortem on Fury vs. Whyte) I thought all you lovely patrons should get to hear my thoughts on the big heavyweight title bout before it happens. Pretty straightforward to predict in my opinion, but I tried my best to make it entertaining for the laymen as well as the boxing purists, and there's even some cameos from John Fury and 'The Gypsy King' himself! Hope you enjoy and as per usual feedback is welcomed, either in the comments here or on Twitter @C0mbatChr
Thank you all for your patronage. Some more news on upcoming episodes while I'm here: YES, Lawler-Condit episode of 'Right? Or Robbery?' is up next, as well as the look at my top ten boxing bouts of all time, which I've seemingly been banging on about for MONTHS (apologies to those that have been looking forward to that one!). There's also another 'Closet Classic' coming up which will be a combat sport I haven't really covered before, but I will be investing some of the Patreon money into a subscription for an online newspaper archive so I can provide even better context to the fight as it's somewhat of a curiosity but I have read some rather lovely and informative primary sources from back in the-back in the-back in the day that will make the episode even more interesting I hope!
So that's in the pipeline for the rest of this month and into May and YES The Guide to Pride has not been forgotten about. Episode 1 is going to be humongous with lots of audio editing and research, and after that I think it will slip into a more general look at the fights/fighters and MMA scene at the time. But for the first episode I have lots of Japanese material that needs to get translated which will be time consuming and (probably) costly but I REALLY want to put the event into its proper context. The episode will be mainly written rather than off the cuff like some of these episodes are, which I hope will make it easier to follow and less of me floating around and going off on tangents (which I reckon will be in place for later episodes)
Speaking of tangents, this was one big tangent! Enjoy and thanks again as always for all your support.
