Right...or Robbery? Johnson - Cejudo II

In this new Patreon-exclusive series, I will look at a mixed martial arts bout considered by the cool fans of MMA (that's you, dear reader/listener) to be a bad decision and look at it through the eye of the ACTUAL scoring criteria of MMA and see whether the decision was Right..Or Robbery?

For the inaugural episode I've picked perhaps the most divisive championship decision in recent memory, the rematch between legendary flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson and somewhat legendary two-weight champion Henry Cejudo. But does Cejudo deserve to be able to call himself king of the flyweights? Or was this an egregious robbery of another belt from D.J's illustrious trophy cabinet?*

Link to the Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts is just below, and please bear in mind this is not a podcast where we score based on second-guessing probably inept judges, but look at it in an ideal world as if they actually understood the scoring criteria outlined in the rules below. So please, no Twitter comments of, 'Well the judges always score ineffective takedowns so why don't you'? We should be striving for everyone having higher standards and a bettter understanding of what the scoring criteria ACTUALLY is.

Thanks for listening as always!

*I think I read that the UFC top brass didn't let D.J keep all the belts and that he just has one at home. If so, a crying shame.
