Acoustic Demo: Kerfuffleful
Added 2019-03-07 13:15:24 +0000 UTCHere's the acoustic demo of Kerfuffleful, our original tune co-written with fiddler Jeff Duncan that appeared in the movie How To Be Single.
Patrick and Jeff performed this in Patrick's living room on October 28, 2015, while I recorded it on my iPhone. Mike was present as well, with all four of us providing arrangement suggestions. The music supervisors for the film at Full Pursuit Media approved this demo the next morning, and we went on to record it properly with Joe Omelchuck at RBI Recording a few days later.
Afterwards, we didn't find out until January whether or not the tune actually wound up being used in the final cut. The movie was released February 12, 2016.
Since we just put Kerfuffleful out as a single a couple weeks ago and talked about it on SlapperCast this week, I thought it would be timely to share this with you now. A few seconds of this demo can be heard on SlapperCast, but as patrons you get to hear the whole thing!
I have more recordings from this demo session that shed some light on how the song came together, which I'll probably share with y'all soon.
