While YouTube ads are in flux, web ads seem to be running just fine. If users viewed your videos on a site you own with Google Adsense (or other ad serving option) you would see likely far more revenues from said ads. Of course getting your users/viewers to see your videos only on that site would be the thing. However there is a 'test' you could do. Use YT to announce a video, give the link, etc. Then upload that video to YT but don't make it listed, make it unlisted. That way they really have to go to this site to see it/them. It might be worth a test anyway. My ad revenues via Adsense have been highly predictable over the past 5 years or so, so trust me this should work. It would take time and energy to implement of course, but it would work given enough users watching, etc.
