Poor Bob got cut pretty bad and needed a little surgery the other night, which if you've spent 8+ hours sitting in a hospital - human or animal - you know it's a real time-suck. I may be a behind on the next episode. BUT you should also know that the next Patreon-only episode will touch on a side disaster or two, effectively making it a multi-disaster episode!
Oh, and Bob is on the mend but the pain killers are making his back legs wobbly.
When we found Bob, he'd spent most of his life in a 2x2 foot cage staring at a wall in a puppy mill. He was a forced breeder and had been treated abysmally. He was underfed, he couldn't look at people, couldn't be around men at all, smashed things with his face all day, all night (still does occasionally), and his tail was always straight down.
Fast foward almost a decade later and he's friendly, playful, loves meeting new people and animals, he's quiet, gentle and incredibly sweet. Emotionally he's still a car wreck, but he's had a chance to just be chill and appreciated for the first time in his life. He's an old boy now, and his hearing and sight are going - but when he's all alone with no one around, you can sneak up on him and find him barking at his own bum and running around in circles trying to catch his tail.
I've created a family and a fairly popular show in my life, but Bob is the greatest thing I've ever worked on.
Last note, you see how his ears flatten out like a gremlin? He does this automatically when I'm around because he knows he's always about to get a head rub. He should be bald. And he's built a muscle mass around the base of his tail from all the wagging.
