Manifesting Rewards and Fashion

I forgot how to write blog posts. Actually, I was just going through a whole thing. I'm still going through a whole thing, but I've found the power to write, and that's good because I have a lot to show off.

Let's get started.

Manifest

First and foremost, this is a developer feature. Destiny's API comes in two parts: the API proper and the manifest and its definitions therein. The definitions define individual entities such as items and triumphs, providing localised names, description, and paths to images, amongst many other properties.

With all game updates and most maintenance mornings, a new, matching manifest is released to accompany any changes.

It's super helpful, as developers, to have a way to see what's changed. It helps to inform us of how to update our apps.

Reward History

Whenever Braytech is open, it's watching for changes to your profile. This is expressed in several ways including toast-style notifications (the ones which pop up from the bottom like toast out of a toaster). Often, these notifications can be tapped, taking you to wherever the triumph, for example, lives.

The latest addition to this expression of a live app is a stream of new items and any experience, rank or otherwise.

You can press  at any time to open the history pane.

Compare and Mark

Two features from Braytech past have returned. Basic functionality to compare and triage many duplicates to help you decide what's trash and what's treasure.

Building a compare feature is hard to do in a way which is integrated into the existing product, performant, and more useful than not.

The basic idea is: open an item screen, tap compare, mark bad rolls, and later, you can filter your entire inventory on what's marked.

It's definitely something to look at again one day.

Dresstiny

A feature built in under a week, Dresstiny addresses the number one issue facing r/DestinyFashion: including the fashion's loadout in the post. A friend helped to convince me this was a good idea, so I went with it, and I went hard.

Here's a summary of the feature:

The Final Thought

That's the end of this news burst.

Quick note: reminder that I build this alone as an individual. It's both flattering and frustrating when someone says to "thank the team," because I produce the quantity and quality of a team, but they also don't realise how much effort from one individual is invested. I feel a little invisible.

Send this to your mum and ask her to become a subscriber so I can continue to eat and pay rent. If she's into begging, I'll do it. Tell her I have emblem codes to give out

Anyway, much love, and thanks to everyone who showed so much love for the Dresstiny feature on socials ❤️
