It will be important in game to produce the Adam42 gen, important to mutate your animals to produce more meat. His spores are being spread for the planet, so you can get spores to "re-grow" it from air. It grows over wood and biomass, but you can always feed it with a fungal substrate for better yields or better crafting time. It loves manure too...so you can use your animal sub products to feed your fungus too.
