Book Idea (Partial joke)

I have been late uploading chapters lately, so while I edit chapters 29 and 30, here's a concept I came up with on a whim:

The Dao of Bread

Even should the sky fall.

The Bread shall rise.

· Cultivation comes to the modern world and the mc, a baker who is deeply involved in the artisanal way of making bread, suddenly awakens to the Dao of Bread.

· He bakes bread of various strange shapes and sizes to fight enemies e.g. baguette as a sword, mini rolls with filling that explode, a loaf that weighs the same as a house.

· As the world devolves around him, he has but one ambition. Defeat his Rival baker!

· He has only ever lost in a bread baking competition once, in the mountains of Tibet, when he was severely wounded (Burned his hands in a baking accident)

· Mc – (French name) Never forgot that loss and dedicated his life to creating the perfect bread to overcome his long rival (Mrs Cheng) A old lady who bakes as a hobby. She uses no measurements and simple ‘feels’ the bread, which infuriates the mc.

· Ignoring a collapsing society and budding wars, Mc begins an odyssey from his home (France) To the distant amazon rainforest, where, legend has it, the ripest wheat can be found.

· This odyssey takes him around the globe as he collects only the rarest, most delicious ingredients for his bread. But wait! Some of the ingredients won’t keep! He’s on a time limit and his dream is on the line.

· As he travels, asking master artisans about their crafts and learning more about the Dao of bread, the mc learns of the one true loaf, a loaf baked in ancient times over and open fire, with no measurements and only desperate hunger to season the plain bread.

· He comes to understand that what truly matters about the bread, is not all the accoutrements, but the feeling behind the bread! (Flashback to a master blacksmith saying something similar)

· On his journey, he comes across many weary travellers, and after feeding them his bread, they are shocked to learn it helps with their understanding of the Dao. Some rally behind him, worshipping him as the god of bread. Others desire his bread and skills, hatching many twisted schemes, including trying to steal the ultimate wheat before he can get to it.

· In a horrible twist of fate, the Mc’s closest companion, his best friend, who used to work for a rival bakery turns out to be a plant from Mrs Cheng who was after the Mc’s secret recipe. (She knows she only won the competition by chance and is desperate to learn the truth behind his unbeatable bread)

· His best friend steels his lucky apron, making the Mc lose his mojo and passion for baking, sending him into a spiral of depression.

· But his old mentor, a chef who swears a lot (Not Gordon Ramsey) Picks him out of his depression and tells him an apron isn’t what makes a cook truly great. The stains and worn fabric on his lucky apron were simply memories of his story so far, and now, he can make new memories with a new apron.

· Mc comes around to the idea of a new apron, but he puts the old one on a pedestal and won’t accept anything less than the best apron.

· After doing some research, he hears of a mighty seamstress who could make the perfect apron, but she refuses to make him an apron because his thoughts aren’t pure. He only wants the apron as a tool and does not respect it. (She makes sentient aprons, so this is a problem)

· Mc completes every challenge the seamstress lays out before him, honing his dao and using it to defeat many bad guys that have come to steal armour from her (She also makes armour, but refuses to sell it for similar reasons, resulting in enmity)

· Finally receiving the apron, mc feels lost. His ingredients have gone off and he returns to his hometown to find that some asshole used their Ult to destroy his entire village.

· With his bakery gone, he wanders aimlessly through the lands, searching for purpose in a world ruled by violence, where his bread is only appreciated for its help in comprehending the dao and not its taste.

· He wonders if he should give up baking bread, but he happens across a child who was abandoned when her parents fucked off to train under master fighter (Emperor phoenix dragon fist)

· She is starving and asks him for food, but the mc has none, he hasn’t needed to eat in years since the dao and his cultivation sustain him. Luckily, he finds a field nearby and quickly grows some poor ingredients with his qi to speed up their growth.

· While baking the bread with poor ingredients, the mc struggles to make a truly good loaf and has to put his everything into the bread, drained from the experience, he feeds the girl the bread and she loves it! the girl starts crying and so does the mc, because he realises that getting the perfect ingredients and apron wasn’t important.

· What really matters is his intention and who he feeds the bread to.

· With this realisation, he truly masters the dao of the bread, but oh no! The bread he fed that girl was the crystallisation of the dao (due to his sudden epiphany)

· She awakens to be a cultivation genius and the mc (Who sees her like a daughter) Doesn’t want her to be taken away by the same man (Emperor phoenix dragon fist) That got her parents killed in unnecessarily harsh training.

· But alone, the mc isn’t strong enough, so he trades his ultimate bread recipe to Mrs Cheng for her help!

· Together, with all his old allies and even his best friend who betrayed him, the Mc wages a great war against the Emperor Pheonix dragon fist, finding out that his one true weakness is that he has a gluten allergy!

· Mc stages a great siege on the emperor’s palace as a distraction while sneaking inside and beating the palace baker (The third best baker in the world) In a competition of artisanal bread making, (His one true weakness since despite being French, the mc doesn’t like croissants)

· After a desperate struggle, the mc is forced to use Mrs Cheng’s old trick that defeated him before (Burning his opponents hands so that he can’t bake properly, of course, he must make it look like an accident)

· With the emperors baker defeated, the mc secretly replaces his favourite, gluten free muffin with one he baked (With hella gluten in it)

· Weakened, the emperor retreats to his secret hideaway, but Mrs Cheng predicted that and cuts him off on a mountain pass, stalling the emperor long enough for the mc to get there and defeat him in his weakened state.

· Now that he has rescued his adopted daughter and stolen a few decent cultivation techniques, they retreat to the mountains where he and all his artisanal friends make a tacky crafts village that caters to only the worthy.
