Important Update for Legizmo Napili

Hello everyone.

Legizmo Napili was scheduled to be released next month. However, a critical pairing issue has been identified during some testing of later watchOS 26 betas.

While it is possible to update an already-paired device, it is not possible to make a fresh pairing with a watchOS 26 device. The pairing infrastructure has been changed, meaning that devices running iOS 17 or older cannot discover unpaired watchOS 26 devices.

From quick research into this matter:

This behaviour could be a partial implementation and/or bug in watchOS - therefore I will have to wait for even later releases or even the public release before I can re-assess the situation.

In the event of no change, I will need to assess the viability of continued development for Napili. The previously planned September billing will be cancelled, as it is not possible to commit to a release next month. For now, please assume this is delayed to October unless a further announcement indicates otherwise.

If it is possible to adapt Legizmo to the new changes, making Legizmo Napili require rootless iOS 16 or newer only, would you be able to use it?

Excited for iOS 26 support once it comes (if it comes). Thank you for all you do.

I _could_ use Napili (upgrading my Watch to iOS 26), presuming development proceeds smoothly as described & hoped for, since I'm on 16.5 rootless - but I'd be wary of doing so, since - what if at some point something glitched out & I needed to re-pair my Watch - I wouldn't be able to. So I will most likely not use it. But I think it should be an option for those who do want to take this risk.
