The Harpy Mountain

Hello everyone!

I hope this month has gone well. I spent much of it on a bit of a weird off-cycle, but I did manage to scrape together some fun stuff for you to try out. The adventure area that opened up last build (at the foot of the mountain) has been populated with some new enemies, and a couple characters have been given new skills. These have only been extremely lightly tested (just making sure that nothing is horribly broken), but if you find any weirdness, *please* swing by the Discord and let me know! My lovely patrons have a full week of early access to this one, and depending on your feedback, I may put out another build this weekend including tweaks and improvements before this section opens up to the public. Thank you all for your help and support! (and if you don't want to deal with in-progress combat stats, keep an eye out for the next build!)

Speaking of lightly tested, I also dropped in another custom plugin from the script package that I had previously made use of. I'm not sure if it was a good idea to limit the number of custom plugins like this before adding later, but this is where we're at right now, so we'll see how well it turns out. This specific change is in response to some player feedback, requesting that the 'Escape' behavior be guaranteed, instead of being math based on relative 'Agility' stats. So now if you hit 'Escape' from battle, you will definitely run away every time. This way, players can choose if they want to deal with fights or not (but if you run often, you'll find yourself under-leveled for important fights later on). However, the plugin that I used to accomplish this also has a bunch of other functions that I have not taken much time adjusting, so you will definitely see some changes from before. But if you do see anything weird or problematic, again, please come by the Discord and let me know.

The newest build (0.1.3) can be downloaded here: MEGA

I'm sure you've also noticed the next commissioned art piece from Sayer Raider of the lovely Tabitha, which I will (hopefully, if I stop getting distracted) be putting into the game to display during conversations when Tabs is talking. That's next on my hit list of things to pop into the game. I'm also making time to specifically start better tracking my task list of things to do instead of just keeping it all in my head. Makes it easier to keep from constantly 'forgetting' things, and also easier to get little pieces done by just picking one thing to do off the list, instead of getting overwhelmed by 'augh so many things to do'.

But yeah, that's where I've been for this month (also it was my birthday, so that was a little distracting, haha). I hope you all are staying cool during the summer months, and onward into July!
