I’ve thought about developing a new course just called “Sex” at my university which discusses how biological sex works in humans and other animals after I get tenure. I’ll then ask for it to be included on the gender studies major and diversity course tags. Surely no one could protest this right?

The male/female complaint really highlights two issues in the ‘gender debate’. First, no one officially sets the terms of the debate so, second, the goalposts constantly shift. The whole point of creating the concept of human gender seemed to be a compromise from the trans activist side to to “normies” that weren’t ready to accept anyone could change their biological sex. So we get two concepts slipped in without debate: 1. That there is this concept of gender that is separate from sex and separate from the body and that 2, where society thought it was separating by sex, it was really separating by gender. Part of this “compromise” was that man and woman referred to gender and male and female referred to biological sex Fast forward past the institutional capture and now we have people like Chase Strangio saying that male and female are also self ID’d and others that you simply can’t use male/female even in clinical/academic settings.

Nothing more reprehensible than when your thoughts align with conservatives, hey Katie? Even though you want a doctor that aligns with what would be considered the conservative thinking on this topic. If your concern is that you would be "used" in some way by conservative outlets, then say that. Regarding the comment at 32:30, fraternal twins do share the same prenatal environment. There may be some very slight differences, but it's the same womb. The key difference between identical and fraternal twins is degree of genetic similarity.

About 10-15 years ago, Ilkka Kokkarinen, a Finnish-Canadian CS professor who was years ahead of the curve on getting woke to the woke question, got outed for his blog, and posted an over-the-top groveling apology. At first I was disappointed, but after reading it again, I realized that it was just Ilkka being Ilkka and that he was winking at his readers through the whole thing.

I definitely think it’s important to talk about how students messaging professors can often result in people saying things that they wouldn’t otherwise say. In a lot of universities people are also getting into arguments Because everybody’s filter is gone. People really need to like have to go to class and face the professor when they talk about their stupid point.

Still listening, but this came up at an abortion presentation at my university. The author of a study was openly criticized by students for not recruiting “male-identified” participants. To be interviewed about their abortion experiences. Made me want to lie down.
