Hereβs a Serum 2 Drum Convolve Resynthesizer patch Iβve been having a lot of fun with lately.
This is built off Au5βs original Serum 2 Convolver Resynthesizer preset β massive shout-out to him for discovering this technique . I thought it was super sick, so I decided to build on it, level it up, and make it more performance-friendly to share with you all.
I refined the routing, added 8 macros for quick control over transients, decay, pitch, reverb, and rhythm generation, and optimised it for kicks, snares, and hi-hat rolls.
At its core, this preset uses Serum 2βs Convolve effect to resynthesize drum samples, letting you reshape the transient, decay, pitch, and rhythm of a sound independently of the original sample.
Macro Overview:
Dispersion β Adds extra transients and zap-style texture
Shorten β Tightens the drum by reducing convolver decay
Reverb β Blends in space and depth
Pitch β Changes convolver size, shifting the perceived pitch/weight
Rhythm 1β4 β Adds rhythmic gating/roll patterns (especially great on hats & snares)
This makes it possible to turn simple one-shots into playable, animated drum instruments with tons of movement.
