Drone Pilot Guilty in Fire Plane Strike (U.S. v. Akemann)
Added 2025-02-03 17:01:01 +0000 UTCPeter Tripp Akemann, the entrpreneur behind Treyarch Studios, has been identified and charged as the person who recklessly flew a drone near the Palisades wildfire, striking a "Super Scooper" firefighting aircraft and taking it out of commission.
Mr. Akemann will pay restitution and perform community service, with no further punishment.
