A Note to All Who Support Me
Added 2020-05-28 20:12:53 +0000 UTCI am exceedingly thankful to everyone out there who supports me and my work. It truly means a lot to me. It is important to me to be open and honest about this system of course, and so with full transparency, I need to inform you of a change Patreon is being forced to make.
Due to legislation, they now need to apply sales tax to pledges. However, they've been working with creators to inform them of what they can do, so hopefully you won't see too large of an increase in cost. They've said these rules should affect less than half of patrons, and the tax should be fairly minimal. The fact that those supporting my work largely do so out of the desire to just help me and my family out and keep my channel going, that apparently helps in keeping the tax cost down. The new tax rules take effect starting on pledges made during June of 2020.
As always, I fully understand if you feel costs are too high for any reason, but I am eternally grateful for the support I receive. It's essentially the only income I have, so knowing people enjoy my work enough to want to donate to support it means a lot to me.

Us Europeans have been paying sales tax since the beginning (21% in my case), so this doesn't change anything for us.
