October Update

Hello Patrons! Another month has passed somehow. It's November now, the video will be done this month! 

It's been roughly 2 months since the Xenoblade video dropped. The extra time this one is taking is due to a few different factors, but the biggest one is that I'm just trying really hard to make sure it's done right. I'm not exactly sure what's different about this video compared to the last two, but I think there's overall more moving parts, higher expectations, and a bigger scope. I really like the ~20 minute video length, but this one is looking to be around 30. I've passed the hardest part which is outlining the script and figuring out the full structure of the video and am now over half way through writing it. I'm hoping to have the script done this week (Edit: I don't know how I thought this was possible), and then after I will get right into recording and editing. 

I've got most of the footage already and have already started editing some of the more complex parts, so I'm hoping that even though it's going to be ~30 minutes it shouldn't take more than a couple weeks to edit.

There's five main elements of this video: Super Mario Sunshine, Splatoon 1, Splatoon 2, Splatoon 3, and "You're an Adult Now" and I'm really liking how I'm tying them together. I'm excited for it to be done, both so you can all see it and so that these months of working on it and thinking about it can be over! 

As for what's after this one, I've figured out the next main video and I'm really excited to get to working on it. I said in the last update that I didn't want to take a sponsor unless I figured out a satisfying way to implement it. I've come up with something that I'm really happy with that perfectly ties into the theme of the video. 

It's going to be partially about Bayonetta 3, but it's going to be more about multiple games and the overarching main topic than the videos before it have been. I'll share more details on it later, but no, it's not about Hellena Taylor or the voice acting industry (mostly). (I've only gotten to play a little bit of Bayo 3, but so far, woah!! It sure is a new Platinum Games game!)

Unless plans massively change, it's going to be the season finale that ties the first 6 videos together. It's going to take a lot of research and playthroughs, but that's sorta the easiest part. Outlining/planning the script is the most time consuming because I can't brute force inspiration, but I can easily binge the research that I need. 

At the end of the year I'm hoping to do the short GOTY video like the one last year. I'm not sure if it will be before or after the "Bayonetta" video, but I want it out before the end of December. I've decided to just consider the GOTY videos completely "non-canon" so they're separate from the main videos. The plan is to start the next season smaller in scope (~15-20 minutes) to prevent multiple month gaps–until the NieR Replicant video which will definitely take more than a month. It might break me! I'm so looking forward to it. (Oh, also, if you're confused on why I'm considering the videos as part of seasons, hopefully it'll become clear in the finale what I've been trying to do with each of them.)
