Hey thank Zarian. It's crazy the trope has gone on for so many decades isn't it? I hadn't really thought about the "strict but fair" trope but you're absolutely right. I recall it much more often nowadays. Definitely authority figures are humanised alot more in modern movies and aniamtion. It's also nice to know someone else really gets that some people can't be convinced and this is a better reflection of our real world. Thanks for the food for thought Zarian :)

2025-03-23 03:34:28 +0000 UTCRegarding your dislike of the “Oppressive Authority Figure” trope, I 100% agree with you. I’ve always hated that trope. Even when I was a kid, it aggravated me to no end. It’s always the same: the parent is overbearing and smothering towards their child(ren), but whenever they come to the parents with their problems, that just outright ignore them and treat them with disdain. It always filled me with contempt seeing this. And you’re right about how annoying it is that the child(ren) has to convince their authority figure of their wrongdoing. Like you said, some people just can’t be convinced, so sometimes it’s better to leave and start your life anew. Fortunately, it seems most people have caught on and are veering away from this trope, as I’ve begun seeing more shows and movies with the “Strict, but Fair” authority figure trope. While they may still be guilty of a few things, they show that they’re willing to be there for their kids, show love and nourishment, and aren’t afraid to get dirty if their child(ren)’s welfare is threatened. Apologies for long comment, I just had to get that off my chest. Thanks for posting the video. Love you and Nin, you look very cute together. Take care and keep up the good work.

2025-03-20 21:40:37 +0000 UTCOh yeah I totally remember the library cliche 😄 Nowadays I tend to see some movies where people instead browse google or do"hacking information on a person" by looking up facebook profiles 😄 Oh yeah the jumpscare trope! Horror movie tropes in general could probably have an entire video on there's so many cliches😄

2025-03-20 13:16:44 +0000 UTCYou two are so Cute together! Yeah the Breakfast Buffet trope like its not just cereal and coffee, its a freaking Platter of food that just goes to so much waste! If I walked downstairs and I saw that on my breakfast table, Screw riding the bus early, I'd be taking my time enjoying a delicious meal. School can wait. Another one I don't know how common this trope is, when the characters need information on something or someone and there's the library montage when they look through microfilm, newspapers, etc. Libraries are important, but It gets a laugh and eye roll when this cliche pops up. Plus there are the Tropes in the Horror genre Alone that could be its own video that have been dissected and studied for years..the final girl/guy, the Jump Scare, the "Rules of surviving a horror film"

THE WILL THEY/WON’T THEY Oh we’re just gonna draaaaag out each and every interaction these characters have, and maaaaaybe there’s romantic interest or maaaaaaaybe they’re just really good friends but oh we’re not gonna CONFIRM anything cuz we wanna drag this out for 5 seasons straight, but don’t worry! We’ll make one of them VERY oblivious and the other might be the most awkward clod any time romance has a chance to show up! 🤦 like i know some things take a while but jeeeez do they get stretched sometimes
