(Please note: I have very limited knowledge about El Duce outside of this album, and a quick skim of his Wiki, so I'm under the assumption that this album, and the subsequent interviews I heard were simply to get a rise out of the censorship queens of late 80s/early 90s America, and not meant to be taken seriously. If I'm wrong...dear god help us all) Now that I've heard the album I can officially say yes. It's offensive. To the point where it gets boring after track 3. It's trying too hard to scare the pastors wives it was targeting at the time. While I'm a fan of the reason this album was made, it's incredibly obvious that it's also not meant to be enjoyed, or at least not unironically, or as a joke. (Side note: I don't know if the Revamped & Revisited version will be the one to be reviewed, but I will admit that if it is, the second half that's tacked on is very interesting. It's almost like the album morphs into a post mortem biography about El Duce, complete with a brief life story, and a Morton Downey Jr. esque interview. Wish they didn't feel the need to play songs that we literally just heard 15 minutes ago behind it all though) On my personal list of WAEM albums with 1 being the worst abomination I've had to sit through, and 41 being the best hidden gem I've had the pleasure of hearing (I listened to, and rated both Limp Bizkit albums separately) I have Slave To Thy Master at a solid 19.
