My best friend has been nagging me for years to watch this series, I'll try it here in good company 😃. PS: it was a scene for Vanilla Sky (which by the way I think the original spanish production with the beautiful Penelope in the same role it is ways better movie, JMO).

2025-10-02 07:16:58 +0000 UTCThis is great. Mr Robot is my favorite show of all time, full stop. It's even better on rewatch. Sam Esmail's attention to detail is staggering. Every time I watch I see something new. Some lines have new meanings, or you see a background detail you missed before. The cinematography, so good. The way they frame shots is so unique. You'll see more and more as the show develops its style. Elliot is a fascinating character and you're already picking up on some lesser-explored aspects. We get to see all of his layers peeled back and learn so much about his journey. I think his story is beautiful, and, unfortunately, relatable. I'm so jazzed to watch the rest of this series with you. You've strapped in to quite the roller coaster.

To quote Louis de Pointe du Lac: “That… was astute, boy!” I think Elliot is aware of his dependency on morphine but doesn’t see himself as an addict. Whether he’s right or not remains to be seen. Speaking from my own experience with a spinal injury, I can say the body can begin to depend on it even when you’re taking it exactly as prescribed, as I’m sure you know. Does that make me an addict? No. But it is a slippery slope. A very slippery slope. I also found your observation about how judgmental he is to be really interesting. Coming from a show like Interview, the contrast makes you view him through a sharper lens. The first time I watched this, I didn’t notice that side of him and more or less took his words at face value. But Interview trains you to scrutinize the narrator so carefully that it heightens your awareness here as well.
